The happy life of eminent author Lahari Mukherjee turns upside down when, on the night of her first marriage anniversary, her husband goes missing after he takes his friend, Mallika to the hospital who had collapsed in the same party. Lahari informs her manager Sandeep about the incident the following day, where Sandeep informs her of Mallika's death at the hospital. Mallika was a known publisher and her sudden death sent a wave people questioning her collapse in the party. An FIR is lodged. Inspector Dibyendu Bakshi of the detective department is appointed to investigate both the death and the disappearance of Apurba. What leads is an unparalleled search for Apurba until his mortal remains are found at a forest outside the city boundaries. The investigation takes a turn and Lahari is found to be guilty of the crimes. She killed Apurba not because she wanted the property or money to her name, but because she was affected by Apurba's behaviour over the period of lockdown. Apurba had just lost his job due to the pandemic, but to maintain his standards of living, he kept asking Lahari for money, when Lahari was unable to pay the bills anymore, what came was abuse both verbal and physical. Lahari unable to bear the pain, took steps and planned up the murder. She then made alibies to strengthen her side of the story.
