Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are falling in love on Netflix this fall — and it’s a religious experience in every sense of the word.
The streamer on Thursday released a full trailer for Nobody Wants This, its upcoming rom-com series that respectively stars Bell (The Good Place) and Brody (The O.C.) as an agnostic podcast host and unconventional rabbi who hit it off at a party. “When they walk out — together — the unlikely pair, Joanne and Noah, can tell there is something between them,” the logline reads. But they’ll have to contend with “their differing outlooks on life,...

In a very quick turnaround, Hulu has given a series order to Mid-Century Modern, its multi-camera comedy pilot from Will & Grace creators David Kohan & Max Mutchnick and Ryan Murphy that stars Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham and Linda Lavin.
The pickup comes less than two months after the pilot, written by Kohan and Mutchnick, was officially greenlighted and just four weeks after it was taped in front of a live audience with multi-cam icon James Burrows directing.
The very quick decision-making — especially by Disney standards — is not that surprising. In addition to an A-list creative team in front and behind the camera, the pilot has been enjoying a very strong word- of-mouth internally that kicked into high gear after the table read.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta has suffered from the absence of NeNe Leakes, and for years fans have been begging for her return.
It won’t happen given how things have gone down between NeNe and the network; there is a lot of bad blood between them.
However, fans of the outspoken reality TV star will be happy to know that she will be back on our screens in the summer.
While we enjoyed seeing the ups and downs of NeNe’s life on Rhoa, her new show will differ from the one on the popular Bravo franchise that made her famous.
Her new Lifetime series will have commentary from the former Bravo star but her personal life will not be the focus.
Over the years, the 56-year-old has given us some memorable quotes, GIFs, and voiceovers that are constantly trending on social media.

NeNe Leakes is spilling the tea from her time as an original castmember on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and this time she sharing her experience with someone who can relate, Bethenny Frankel (“The Real Housewives of New York”).
During her two-part conversation with Frankel on her podcast “Just B,” Leakes dished on some old and new items like feeling like she was blacklisted following her lawsuit against NBCUniversal, Bravo, and production companies True Entertainment and Truly Original, and how Black “housewives” were not given the same privileges as their white counterparts.
But there were new revelations, like Frankel’s attempt to pitch a show starring her and Leakes called “Ebony and Ivory,” and Leakes admitting she felt executive producer/host Andy Cohen never liked her.
Leakes also recognized the jumpstart that “Housewives” gave her TV career but now wants to return to her real passion — acting. Here’s a...

Ryan Murphy made headlines back in 2018 when the prolific producer of TV hits ranging from "Glee" to "American Horror Story" signed a massive content deal with Netflix, estimated at a record-breaking $300 million. Since then, Murphy and his collaborators have delivered a head-spinning array of projects for viewers of the streaming service, in addition to various shows for network television and the FX basic cable brand.
Known for audacious and outrageous plot twists, compelling characters, and assembling a repertory company comprised of some of Hollywood's finest actors, Murphy has managed to leave his imprint on everything he touches. Realistically speaking, Murphy has increasingly spread himself thin as he continues to pump out more and more television content within multiple genres. Though everything remains thoroughly on brand, not all of those projects achieve the same level of quality. Occasional stumbles are inevitable. With that in mind, read on for a roundup of...

It was a not-at-all-insignificant weekend at the box office as "Avatar: The Way of Water" was finally forced to surrender the top spot, with M. Night Shyamalan's "Knock at the Cabin" earning its place in history as the movie to get the job done. And while that is certainly the headline-worthy story to come from this past weekend, it's by no means the only story worth examining. That's because several other movies and bits of specialty programming entered the fold and did quite well, despite the heavy competition. This includes "80 for Brady," a BTS concert documentary, and the season finale of a faith-based TV show. There was room for all, and that is something the industry at large would do well to make note of.

Sunday’s 74th Writers Guild of America Awards will wrap up the guild season, along with the American Society of Cinematographers Awards. Will the winners be an Oscar preview?
“Licorice Pizza,” written by Paul Thomas Anderson, and “Coda,” by Sian Heder, are favored to win Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay, respectively. However, they are not facing off against many of their Oscar rivals as the WGA’s rules have rendered several scripts ineligible, including Oscar nominees “Belfast” and “The Worst Person in the World” in original, and “Drive My Car,” “The Lost Daughter” and “The Power of the Dog” in adapted. But if they both prevail, they will have bagged the two top industry prizes as they won at BAFTA last weekend right in the middle of final Oscar voting (it ends Tuesday).

When “Modern Family” premiered in 2009, the mockumentary-style family sitcom was an instant hit, one that would forever alter the fabric of the television landscape. At the time, it seemed water cooler discussion of primetime television had gone the way of the radio, but — much like that other medium — it came roaring back. While Sofia Vergara’s Gloria waltzed her way into the hearts of gay men and lesbians for wildly different reasons, it was Cameron and Mitchell’s loving relationship that made Lgbtq viewers feel truly seen and represented.
Played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, seeing a loving (and bickering) gay couple on primetime was a revelation. Without downplaying the strides made by “Will & Grace,” “Modern Family” was the first time a major network had shown a long-term, committed queer relationship — and with two of its leading characters.
