True, I had very little expectations to a movie such as this, I mean with a title such as "Ninjas vs. Monsters" and having read the synopsis of the movie. But still, this movie has ninjas in it, and that alone invokes giving the movie a chance.
I gave it a chance. But my patience and interest in the movie was assassinated, perhaps by ninjas, about 20 minutes into the movie. Then I just couldn't take anymore of it. It was just a scrambled mess of a movie in every aspect.
The storyline, well, let's just say that it is a group of ninjas (who actually is nowhere near the definition of ninja in any coherent way) who has to fight iconic monsters.
Right...
I think it was the Dracula character and the actor (Sam Lukowski) who portrayed him that was the icing on the cake that was too much for me. The accent that he opted to portray the iconic vampire count was just something drawn randomly out of a bag and added with a pseudo-eastern European accent (or what he thought was an accent).
The fight scenes that I managed to sit through were abysmal, and you have to look long and hard to find anything like it in other movies. This was so bad that it wasn't even fun to watch.
Now, I am sure that the actors, actresses and the entire film crew were having a blast making this movie. But for us in the audience, it wasn't the same experience.
I managed to stick with "Ninjas vs. Monsters" for about 20 minutes, and I can in all honesty say that I am never ever going to return to this movie to try to finish it. This is one of those types of movies that you forget all about almost immediately after having seen it.
Stay well clear of this movie.
