Russia, Tambov Province, 1909-1921. The Russian Village is experiencing the most difficult of times: World War I, the Russian Revolution, civil war, and famine.       Little woman in a hurricane of history

      "Once upon a time there was a simple woman" by Andrey Smirnov - the best historical drama of the past decade of Russian cinema. The tragedy about the fate of the Russian peasant woman in one of the most bloody periods in the history of Russia - the beginning of the last century, including the First World War, the Revolution and the Civil War.
