What was meant to be a quick gas and snack stop turns into a bit of a work out for our suited hero.
Without breaking into a sweat or getting an iota of dust on his suit Agent Coulson manages to nail two very naughty bad guys with some serious moves and a bit of "wire work" thrown in.(All strings airbrushed - but we know you can't jump that high Phil.)
It goes to prove the point that Agent Coulson can use ANYTHING as a weapon and in true hero style he does.
Slickly shot with a small amount of dialogue.
All in a nights work. : )

So far I've been less than impressed with these Marvel One-Shots. I get the concept behind them, I think it's quite neat and they make a great DVD extra but they just haven't been all that good.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer has changed that. In this tiny little short we see our very own Agent Coulson foil a robbery at the petrol station he has stopped at.
The humour is there, Gregg is fantastic as usual and they make the best of the minimal time available.
Speaking of time, this has a feature time of just four minutes however literally half of that is the credits so truth be told this is a 2 minute Marvel outing.
The most frustrating thing is that this cost half a million dollars to make. That's right 500,000 for 2 minutes of entertainment!? How do these people justify their salaries, it's sickening. I'm a movie obsessive as anyone who knows me (Or has been on my profile knows) but the amount these people make for playing dress up is offensive. How have we gotten to the stage in the world where the highest paying jobs are acting, singing and playing games? It's an embarassment.
Anyway this is a fun little short.
The Good:
Very well made
Clark Gregg
The Bad:
Feels like a card advert
Not exactly a story present
Stupidly expensive for what it is
Things I Learnt From This Short:
Shield agents make such low salaries they have to choose between donuts
Just shooting bad guys is so passe
I really need to get into Tae Bo

OK, Coulson is a bada**. Let's just get this out there. The story might have been something as boring as a gas station robbery but Clark Gregg puts in so much charisma that it is worth the watch.
Gregg's Coulson is completely witty in this short as he kind of messes with the robbers until he very easily takes them down. It is very unexpected from someone who we have only seen on the sidelines but it is very welcome.
This doesn't add much to the plot of either Iron Man 2 or Thor, it's just good plain fun and something for Clark Gregg to showcase himself with.
+ Clark Gregg + Humor + Quick, effective action - Adds nothing to overall story, still fun though
Final Score: 8.8/10

Understated, as always, Agent Coulson takes care of business. Love these One Shots! I give this short film a 7 (good) out of 10. {Marvel Action Adventure}

I love Coulson and this One-Shot proves why. One of the better One-Shots just Behind Agent Carter. Nice action and an interesting story. Funny to watch.

I don't like the title, I mean it could have been something better. The short is really short, like 4 minutes, so there isn't a lot to talk about. Coulson was badass in this short, showing us why he is a Shield agent. Really cool guy.
This should have been included in the main film! It's a very brief, very fast paced introduction to Agent Coulson. We don't see much - he enters a convenience store, tricks some robbers and fights them with a bag of flour - all with a suave calmness. It shows us everything we need to know about Coulson in a single action scene.

*) K Reviews *) ( ( Shorts should be like this only, fun loving and easy on eyes and brain. Movies and TV series are enough to keep the track of all the characters in every movie and series. As the MCU expands, all this will grow and these shorts are always welcome.

Agent Coulson Gets some gas and tries to pick which kind of doughnuts he wants when two robbers hold up the place.
This is a fun little "Day in the Life" story. Even when he isn't dealing with superhero egos, Phil is on the job and it's not boring. There is some great tension, brief action, and some humor in this. What makes the whole thing work is that it very clearly is not a big deal for the lead. This kind of thing happens all the time. This is 2 and a half minutes long, or 4, if you count the end credits.
This is currently available on Disney Plus. I recommend it to fans of the mcu. 7/10.

This installment didn't seem too important, but I always enjoy seeing more of Agent Coulson. Nice bridge from Iron Man to Thor though.
It's optional to watch but if you love marvel or are a big fan it's well worth the few minutes it takes to watch.

Marvel One-Shot: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer
This wasn't the best of the one-shots. It gives us a chance to Coulson being all badass as a S. H. I. E. L. D. agent by defeating two guys robbing a gas station convenience store. I guess this was to give him some action instead of just seeming all snooty government officialish. There was a reference to Roxxon on the gas pump which was nice, but nothing much else to see here.
I wish they had included more characters in the sequence that are known to the audience or the comic book fans instead of random people. I much rather prefer seeing Coulson in the Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D. tv show being badass instead of here.

I really liked this One-Shot. For the first time we really get to see Agent Coulson in action. And man oh man, is he ever awesome! The short was well put together. It was interesting and fun. I loved the music and the scenes. It made me laugh. I wish it would have been longer. The Agent carter Short was the best because is was fifteen minutes. It's too bad they wouldn't have made this long like that one. I think Agent Coulson deserves more screen time. I really enjoy watching his adventures. His character is pretty sweet and we get a good look at that on this one-shot. I'm excited to see where it goes from here.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer is a good little short in the MCU. It focuses on Agent Coulson running into a situation on his way to Thor's hammer Mjolnir. With that said, on the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it takes place around the same time as some events in the first Thor. It's definitely a fun little short showcasing more of Agent Coulson. These short one-shots are pretty good and I wish they continue to make them post-Endgame. They might not add a whole lot to the overarching story of the Infinity Saga but still, they are entertaining shorts about certain characters. Sometimes these one shots even branch into their own things, with this one shot helps branch out towards Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D. with Agent Coulson being part of the main cast in the series. So what's not to love about these one shots.
Set before the events of Thor, this short made solely for featuring the exceptional fighting skills of Agent Phil Coulson.
There's nothing special about this one though.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer follows Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) his role in Iron Man 2. Gregg is a phenomenal actor and a crucial piece to the early MCU. It's often forgotten just how large of a role he played, constantly in the shadows alongside S. H. I. E. L. D.. His comedic timing and serious demeanor create one of the most enjoyable super-spy types in recent years. Though this is quite a short story, Coulson shines as a hero, doing the right thing without second thought, even when the odds are against him. While this One-Shot is action packed, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer is nothing too original or intriguing.
