Overdrive

The Ferrari 250 GTO in the movie is not one of the genuine 36 250 GTO's. Instead it is a replica, based on a Ferrari 250 GTE, chassis number 4861GT, owned by a French collector. This is unsurprising as a real car of such used in the film would be valued at several millions: the current record for world's most expensive car was set a year after the films release (2018: a 1963 250 GTO (chassis 4153GT) sold in a private sale for $70 million; and another in auction (GTO 3413GT) at some $48,000,000): prior to the film being made, a bid of $34,000,000 secured one in 2014.

Morier claimed the Ferrari 250 GTO is worth $38 million which is the record price sold in auction. The figure he should've claimed was the then record $52 million, achieved in a private sale.
