Unlike the 1st Dynasties which explained the history of lead animals family, & cause of crises allowing the viewer to be immersed, fully invested in their habitat & DETAILED survival during crisis, this series fails to replicate any of that gripping magic. Script is weak & footage is more like left over clips pieced together. Short Music themes repeats in every episode. There's more in depth film Re puma on Apple's Earth @ night series with Hiddleston narrating well.
In this Dynasty 2 series, no history of the family of lead mammal is given. Most hunts, social liaisons, & dangers occur at dusk through night but only daytime footage is shown. Elephant baby twins are so rare- why didn't film crew follow newborns in depth for whole season? Instead, with each episode, crew leaves for 4-6 months & return with no explanation other than the obvious "they survived."
Viewer feels cheated due to how well the 1st series was done, script, score & narration, esp Painted Wolves & Chimpanzee episodes. Also, there's nothing here in Dynasties II re huge human impact on their habitats. Even Sir David's voice sounds weak, even bland at times, like he has laryngitis - odd since computers can easily manipulate/ remedy any voice. Lacking in his narration is his unique apt timing & "wondor" tone. Instead Sir David narrates like he's merely reading, not watching the film, even a bit bored which in itself is a surprise grievance.
Overall this series II is a huge disappointment, which explains the continued advertising campaign of these very average, disconnected non in-depth short films.
Definitely a series one can skip viewing.
