Originally listed in the cast were Andi Eigenmann, Carla Abellana, Shaina Magdayao, and Pokwang. When efforts to bring Andi, Carla, and Shaina failed, Marian Rivera, Lovi Poe, and Angelica Panganiban (who starred in director Chris Martinez's Here Comes The Bride) were attached to the project. When GMA entered into the picture, the talents from the rival ABS-CBN networks were replaced with GMA stars.
While their character names are different, the new characters are based on the old ones with Marian Rivera playing Azenith Briones' role, Heart Evangelista playing Dina Bonnevie's, Lovi Poe playing Jennifer Cortez's, Solenn Heussaff playing Bambi Arambulo's, and Rufa Mae Quinto playing Deborah Sun's.
Jake Cuenca and Zanjoe Marudo were earlier attached to play roles originally done by Alfie Anido and Domingo Sabado.
When Andi Eigenmann backed out from the project due to her hectic schedule, Angelica Panganiban got her part. GMA Films was willing to cast the actress although she's identified with the rival network. However, a conflict with the schedule forced Angelica to quit the movie.
