Toying with the very framework of storytelling, Dark Melody keeps it's viewers on the edge of their seats the entire time. The action filled drama exemplifies both the strengths and weaknesses of the short film field.
Loiewski creates a believable world viewers can participate and believe in while still focusing on the drama. At times, of course, there are details indicative of any non-major studio film, but over all great focus is put on ensuring authenticity.
While most films pay rapt attention to musical scores, often shorts overlook this dimension. Dark Melody is thankfully not victim to this plight. Music and action stimulate the viewer for the entire duration.
In a nut shell, I found Dark Melody to be an excellent view full of great music, action, and an interesting order of scenes.
