Exclusive: Kimberly Carver, who represents the likes of Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who are behind Wizards of Waverly Place reboot, has moved from Anonymous Content to Avalon.

Carver, who also recently exec produced Max’s Julia Child drama Julia, has joined the company as a manger based in LA.

It is the latest expansion for UK-founded firm Avalon in the U.S., where it has added six manager in the U.S. and struck a partnership with literary talent at The Agency.

Carver joined Anonymous Content at the end of 2021, where she was a manager and producer working in scripted and non-fiction formats, representing a diverse group of writers, directors, documentary filmmakers, and podcasters. In addition to exec producing Julia, she also produced several comedy series, including Barely Famous and Comedy Get Down, and co-created the non-scripted series The Julia Child Challenge during her tenure at 3 Arts Entertainment.

Almost two decades after her death, Julia Child is back in the media spotlight, the subject of a trio of projects.

The Sony Pictures Classics documentary “Julia,” from the “Rbg” team of Julie Cohen and Betsy West, was first out of the gate when it debuted on the fest circuit in September, followed March 16 by “The Julia Child Challenge” cooking competition on Food Network. The HBO Max scripted series “Julia” will arrive later this month, with Sarah Lancashire portraying the iconic chef.

In the reality show, eight self-proclaimed disciples of Child vie for the chance to win an all-expenses-paid, three-month cooking course at Le Cordon Bleu, where she studied in 1950, by whipping up their own spins on her iconic dishes.

“Top Chef,” “Chopped” and “Cutthroat Kitchen” alum chef Antonia Lofaso is the head judge of Food Network and Discovery Plus’ upcoming primetime cooking competition “The Julia Child Challenge.” It’s important to make that title clear up front as, though Lofaso is the vibrant live chef in the room with the contestants, the vibrant Julia Child herself serves as host via a giant screen playing classic black-and-white footage of the food icon hosting “The French Chef” in the center of a kitchen modeled to look just like her own.
