When I tell you this is the worst movie you will ever see in your life, it's an understatement. I can't even say it's a C film, it's that bad. There's a little room for forgiveness due to this being actor Tony Schiena's (who also acted in this film) first time as a director.
But where there's no excuse is how horribly this was written by Michael Caissie. This is the most incoherent and inept screenplay ever written. The plot is so convoluted with ridiculous characters popping in and out with no backstory, reason or explanation. It's so bad, that the actual dialogue one tough-guy says is "L-O-L".
Then you have the worst editing I have ever seen - was this mess even edited? Scenes just end and another starts like the screenplay was shredded and randomly taped back together. The screenplay and editing need to be studied in film school on what not to do.
Don't be fooled by some high-caliber names being cast, I'm sure they are all regretting it - albeit the minimal scenes they had. The score was loud and overbearing, and all casting and performances including the action scenes, were amateur-hour cringeworthy.
I'm baffled at the production companies that saw the final cut and decided to go to market thinking this nonsense was watchable, because it's not. It's irritatingly and frustratingly unwatchable.
It's a very generous 2/10 from me, out of pity for some of the decent actors that had their names attached to this.

Wow! Was expecting so much with a few good names in the cast; but, this was baaaad. Jerky storyline told via disjointed flashbacks, stilted and trite dialogue, badly choreographed fight scenes, poorly developed characters...just awful. I started playing it and it soon became just background noise to pass the time while I did some mundane household chores. Just terrible. Sad to see Bruce Dern and Cuba Gooding lent their names and talents to such a low budget effort. I guess everyone has to pay the utility bills and a job's a job. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one, I'm not sure it was even worth listening to in the background....find something else that's worthy of your time.

Absolutely terrible movie. The people in it cannot be called "actors", I refuse to believe they were actually paid for the job. Just don't bother, it's not one of those "so bad that it's good" movies, it's just simply bad, really bad. The CGI is almost as bad as the acting, the fire in one scene looks like it was drawn by a 4 year old in crayon. As for the fighting, well, if there was a choreographer on set, they really need to be looking at taking their career in a completely different direction. I've seen better fights from drunk people in Wetherspoons. My guess is there wasn't even a script for the movie. Someone just briefly explained the storyline and said, "Let's go, just do whatever you want to". This movie is definitely a 0/10, unfortunately that wasn't an option, so I had to give it 1 star, but please be assured, it is nowhere near worthy of that 1 star.
READ THE TITLE OF THIS REVIEW. I consider myself to be a movie buff and so when I saw that. Cuba Gooding Jr. And the OG Bruce Dern were going to be part of the cast I thought this movie "Should" be something worth my time. Well, I can tell you that this movie has reached a new low in my world of unwatchable movies. This is probably close to the worst movie ever that I have watched. There were so many issues with this movie it's not even worth my time to repeat any of them. Just read the other 1 Star comments that are here if you want to know more. From bad acting to a story line that leads in multiple directions to so many unnecessary actors, that aren't even required, to the worst plot ever, it just made for a REALLY bad movie. I wouldn't recommend anyone watching this movie unless you really have absolutely nothing else to watch and are forced to watch it. Definitely DO NOT PAY to see this movie as you will just be wasting your money and time. Who ever signed off on the release of this movie should be fired and never allowed to work in the movie industry again. As far as the director and editor the same goes for them as well. That or go back to film school and learn the right way. I'm sure a 5th grader could do better than this. As far as a rating this movie is not even a 1/10 but I had to pick something in order to leave my review.
ZERO STARS FOR THIS MOVIE!!
ZERO STARS FOR THIS MOVIE!!
The acting is sub-par, the dialogue is stunted and delivered as if by recent graduates of Madam Pickle's Backstreet School of Acting.
A meaningless soundtrack overlays everything - I got 16 minutes into the film before turning it off, going to bed and crying myself to sleep at the rapid demise of quality cinema.
I couldn't even wait for Gooding to make an appearance who might have improved the quality of this movie - I couldn't take it any longer than I did.
The script is full of clichés and don't worry, there are no spoilers here because I've already forgotten every utterance of every actor in this ridiculously bad movie.

How the hell did this even get made? Who owes Tony Sheena so many favors that they actually let this asshat star AND direct this pathetic mess. How much did they have to pay CGJ to be in this? Also, when does he show up? I think I missed it between the worst, fake fight scenes I've ever seen and checking my spam mail because I was so bored I would rather read phishing emails and ads for Viagra.
Yes, the editing is terrible. But don't blame the editors. They were just trying to splice together some semblance of a narrative from the train wreck of raw footage. It's pretty clear that Tony Sheena wants to be an action star, but his Small Dick Energy is too overwhelming. He's so unconvincing as just a human being, much less a star. To call his acting wooden would be an insult to wood. Avoid at all costs.

This is such a mess, it looks so low budget, and the script is very weak. There is a good performance by Cuba Gooding Jr. But the editing of his dialogue scenes are quite weak. As for the acting of the rest of it, other then the immortal Bruce Dern's scene is so abysmal its hard to watch. The fight/action scenes are poorly choreographed, and camera angles are so clumsy its obviously not realistic. Telling a story like this takes quite a bit of setting up, character history is vital. Yet here this about 4 minutes of history, which has no real connection other then clumsy flashbacks. Trying to make a film like this usually takes multiple rewrites to get the dialogue to flow. This looks like they rushed through it in a few days, or weeks.
I have many other criticisms but why bother the film is just worth it.

I only started watching this movie for the "presence" of Cuba Gooding Jr and Bruce Dern. Two of the greatest actors. But blink once with your eyes and you have missed their performances, it's that SHORT.
The bad: THIS IS A B-MOVIE. Everything from acting, story, sound, photography to eidting, everything is amateur night.
What's worse, to cover up the ridiculousness of this movie they started using lots of cheap violence, fake violence, but nonetheless gross violence.
Not even the slightiest funny. It is a big nothing burger. But I kept on watching hoping to see Cuba Gooding Jr and Bruce Dern, but I have no clue why they decided to star in this flop. Did they run into lower grounds, into financiial troubles. It's always sad to see great actors lower themselves to this kind of garbage...

Find something else to watch. Just another totally convoluted movie that starts in the middle and jumps round and round. Just the millionth version of pretty much the same old script, but so are most of the others out there. Could have been at least decent, but they missed that boat completely. Full of second-rate actors trying to climb their way up, but this is not the way to do it. It's hard to give a good performance in a bad movie. Besides, they all look pretty much the same, same gruffy faces, same dingy clothes, same boring lines, all given in poorly lit dungy settings. Forget the Cuba Gooding tease. Only thing that got me here, but he was just there to pick up a check for his lawyers, say a few lines, and go back home.

"The Weapon" is pretty good for a typical action film! First off it's entertaining in exactly the same way that the "John Wick" film series is entertaining - you watch these types of movies for the fight scenes! I mean I have seen hundreds and hundreds of action films and there are some bad ones, but honestly this is not a bad movie. Cuba Gooding Jr has just a small part in this movie, but I like his character. The cinematography, visual effects, and editing are decent, and I think you really should just watch this movie yourself and be your own judge of what you think. Are there campy parts that feel like a "B" movie, well sure, but I love that! Also, the best part of this movie for me is the sound mixing and music, because I'm someone who enjoys quite a wide variety of music, and I really like the score!

This is just a very terrible mivie. Given the cast I didn't think it would be nearly as bad as it is. It is an overly convoluted action movie that lacks much in the way of real action. And the story just makes no sense at all. The acting is extremely sub par and the script is down right awful.
Now I must ramble on because IMDB requires a minimal number of characters for a review. Spoiler alert - there are no spoilers in this review. You can't really spoil a movie that is this bad. To say this movie is cliche is an understatement. From the first scene to the last it keeps getting worse. Do yourself a favor and pass on this movie.

Director Tony Schiena brings us the action packed "The Weapon".
Dallas is a one-man killing machine on a mysterious rampage. His attacks on biker gangs and meth labs anger the Vegas mob boss who's holding Dallas's girlfriend hostage. But who is Dallas working for? Even torture won't make him talk...and he won't stop until justice is served.
Tony Schiena directorial debut and also stars in this as former special forces agent Dallas. We are introduced to his character through flashbacks of of a daring violent rescue of a women that was kidnapped and forced into a sex trafficking ring. His encounter is with a insane ruthless violent motorcycle gang. The depiction is terrifying and well shot and acted out by all involved to give an authentic feel of the situation.
We have so much going on here we have iconic Cubin Gooding Jr and things get really deep as Dallas takes on Biker gangs, cartels and the guy who is organizing this whole encounter Lars played by the always welcome Richard Grieco. Who by the way kidnapped Dallas girlfriend the beautiful and talented Anna Lynne McCord. My buddy Shannon Ritch has a fun scene as Sully, wish it could of been more. James Chalke a great actor has a very memorable performance. Check out the exclusive clip below.
What we have is a set up that just explodes with action and some of the best fight scenes choreographed that I have scene in awhile. It's such a breath of fresh air to see a movie with such adrenaline and constructed scenes.
There is such a great ensemble of actors here you don't want it to end. Tony Schiena had a challenge here on his first project. But he had a great team and it all panned out.

I often try to watch, or, at least, check out, low rated movies mostly because my taste runs different from most other peoples. I really don't care about writing, continuity or dialogue. What I care about is if the movie interests me enough to see it through to the end.
This one is a hidden gem. I liked the camera work and the character development. The flashbacks were a bit to get used to and I found that actually paying attention is helpful.
If you don't mind having your scenes delivered to you haphazardly in a non-linear fashion with head-scratching moments, this is probably going to appeal to you.
