Independently made by a small crew of volunteers, with a writer/director who never went to film school, bare-minimum camera and lighting techniques, and garnering more critiques than praises, regardless, the film went on to win 24 Awards worldwide at Independent Film Competitions and Festivals. "Yezi" symbolizes the simple theme that each individual has the need to be understood and supported in either homo- or hetero-relations, through a story of two women artists: a Chinese painter Meihua (Youxin Yang) and a French photographer Feuille (Sabine Bail). In this musical version, the film director wrote and composed three new songs, titled True Love Has Only One End, Hometown, and Compromise. These songs were performed by established vocalists including Professors of Voice at Berklee College of Music: Mili Bermejo, Jeannie Gagné, and New England Conservatory alumnus Patrice Williamson.
