Ariana Grande is shiny haired and beautiful and also fully believes in ghosts and one time licked a donut in a display case, and honestly, I’m kind of a fan of her whole weird vibe. Additionally, I enjoy how she has a tiny speaking voice and a huge singing voice, like Sister Mary Robert from Sister Act. And although tonight’s sketches were a little hit or miss, Ariana handled her hosting/musical guest double duty fairly well. Let’s dig in! Cold Open: CNN reporter Jake Tapper cuts between coverage of Donald Trump’s rally with Ben Carson and an interview with Bernie Sanders. Listen, I was going to miss Jay Pharaoh’s Dr. Ben Carson impersonation as much as the next SNL reviewer, but I would have rather never seen him again than watch another former Republican candidate throw his support behind this orange monster who won’t go away.

NBC has made a schedule change for the final Sunday of May sweeps, May 18th. The network has replaced Crisis and Believe with an encore of The Women of SNL.
While the Sunday night dramas haven't been officially cancelled yet, they surely will be. Being pulled from the schedule during the sweeps period -- replaced by a rerun of a clipshow, no less -- is a very bad sign. The move isn't a surprise though. Both Crisis and Believe have been performing terribly in the ratings.
Crisis is averaging a meager 1.1 in the 18-49 demographic with 4.48 million viewers. Believe is averaging a 1.3 in the demo with 5.45 million. Both shows drew a 1.0 in the demo this past Sunday and have each dropped below a ratings point in the past few weeks.

There's a crisis on NBC's Sunday night lineup. Both Crisis and Believe have been pulled from the Peacock's Sunday, May 18 schedule. Sunday, May 18 is the last Sunday in May sweeps. In place of Crisis and Believe will be a rerun of NBC's The Women of SNL special at 9 p.m. The Women of SNL special reunited Saturday Night Live veterans including Tina Fey, Cheri Oteri, Molly Shannon, Nora Dunn, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Rachel Dratch and looked back on classic sketches starring the funny ladies. This isn't good news for the struggling midseason dramas. Crisis debuted to 6.5 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in March, but a recent episode dipped to 4 million and a 1.0 rating. The conspiracy drama stars The...

CBS’ The Big Bang Theory showed off its incredible ratings strength Thursday with a repeat on a dead night, drawing a 2.6 in adults 18-49 and 11 million total viewers — numbers that would be considered great for any original. With the hit comedy, CBS won the night (1.4, 6.5 million) that featured all reruns with the exception of a two-hour ABC News special on the real places and people that inspired Downton Abbey. It drew a 1.0 in 18-49 following Shark Tank (1.3), which posted its highest-rated repeat of the season. A rebroadcast of NBC’s The Women Of SNL special also drew a 1.3.

Fast National ratings for Thursday, December 26, 2013. On a slow post-Christmas Thursday dominated by repeats, CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" delivered the best numbers in all measures and helped the network cruise to victory. There were few other notables, but ABC's lackluster "20/20" special tied in to "Downton Abbey" and NBC's "The Women of SNL" helped those networks to a tie in for second among young viewers. Meanwhile, Fox's repeats continued to fall lower and lower, barely keeping the lights on and barely edging out The CW's repeats at this point. On to the numbers... ...
