I like a sappy holiday romcom, and I really wanted to like this movie. I like the actors, and there were some good scenes that fulfill the checklist for holiday movie tropes. Everyone is nice and attentive, devoting full attention to each person as if delivering their lines in an after school special. Some poor voice audio issues knock the film quality down a notch. Unlike an after school special, there is no heart warming growth of character to make you feel warm and fuzzy about their story arc. The characters' fatal flaws remain unchanged and they ultimately take no responsibility for their toxic behaviors, leaving me screaming that they don't deserve their happy endings.

The plot was there and the actors were super talented but mid-way I felt like it got lost a bit. It got a little predictable but then towards the later stage it picked up a bit so the editing could have been a more precise. Apart from that the film was still good and entertaining. We watched it through the end and it was a fun romantic movie that had plenty of funny moments and sweet bits too. I thought the ending was nice, Kieren Hutchison is such a talented actor and let's just say he's easy on the eyes. Would I recommend this? Absolutely! It's a nice weekend movie to watch with your friends or if your bored. The film looked like it was made with a good budget also. The audio and scenes were crisp which is a plus point.

Did someone associated with this movie have a thing for Jane Austen? I'm not a big Jane Austen fan but i did notice the title character's name was Emma played convincingly by Vanessa Angel. Miles Bennett, well played by Kieren Hutchison, was her ex-boyfriend from high school. They accidentally find themselves in the same hotel at Christmas time. I note here that Elizabeth Bennett was the name of the main protagonist in Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice." Googling the name Cassandra, it appears this was the name of Jane Austen's older sister in real life. I'm thinking this movie might be 'very' loosely based on Jane Austen's last novel "Emma" about a love triangle of sorts. Notably, Jason London did a very nice job in his role as the wise hotel bartender, Carl. A pleasant Christmas story.

Nothing bad to say here. Plenty of good things going on here. I just seen it my friends and we all loved it. Two ex high school sweethearts get stranded at a random hotel bar during a snowstorm. What could go wrong? A lot! A highly entertaining film with lots of laughs and a sweet ending. If your into romantic comedies then this is one you need to watch. I'm giving this a 9 as it was nice to see Chelsea Vale again. She's one of my favorite upcoming actress and her style and passion really made this film come alive. Well done, i highly recommend this film! It's for sure a weekend, fun comedy movie type of film.
They don't make movies like this anymore. Simple but fun film about two ex high school sweethearts getting stuck at a hotel bar during a snow storm. We see a lot of comedy, pain and sweet moments. A very well thought out romantic comedy i think. The scenes weren't over the top, the dialogue wasn't cheesy and the plot twists was adequately done with no over the top scenes. They can for sure make a part two of this so I'm hoping they do that. The cast is super talented also with lots of recognizable faces including the beautiful Chelsea Vale. Would I recommend this to everyone? Yes! A nice mix of comedy, romance and lots of fun.

This is a classic romantic move with a super talented cast. The plot was good and the story didn't drag out like many other romantic comedies out there. The plot did start of a little slow but thankfully it got moving quickly and it was entertaining from then on. I also liked the ending, it's a holiday season, feel good type of movie at the end of the day. The actors were great and passionate. Very realistic. The shots and dialogue where to the point and looked like it was made on a big budget. It's nice to watch movies like this once in a while, I'm move of an action guy but my wife forced me to watch this and I ended up liking it also. Well done.

Loved it. Cute, quirky, and endearing. It's a rom-com with a somewhat of a predictable plot once you're halfway through the film. That being said, the story is written really well and keeps you engaged throughout the entire duration of the movie. There are also tons of really sweet moments as the two leads try to navigate their feelings. Chelsea Vale who plays Cassandra is a real stunner also but Vanessa Angel and Jason London also did great in their parts and made the film worth watching. Merry Ex-Mas is a fun romantic film, it has a bit of everything for everyone so it's something you can watch with friends and family.
