Cool lead actors, good chemistry and a promising script out the door and then...
For reasons only the screenplay writer knows this story goes off the rails. T he second half of the film makes little or no sense. The dots, seemingly so well placed, headed off in different and wrong directions. Louis, a super talented comic artist pines for wannabe singer, songwriter Paige. We see page as a strong, determined woman who is fearless in dealing with her waning relationship with a musician. She makes no bones about her new, intense feelings for Louis. One expects obstacles but not when they seem totally misplaced. Dialogue contributes to this i.e. first loves never succeed. When needed Paige shows willingness to fight for right. James Denton is wasted as the bar owner not to mention his unnecessary sexist remarks. In the ended I was wanting to hit the fast forward button to move things along. The film's finale failed. Se la vie!
