This is the best parody of a gold mining show ever.
Six admitted actors answer an online ad to become stars in a gold hunt in Greenland. After introducing them and their relevant experience, which can be summed up as "I like money", they arrive Greenland in time to... go into Covid quarantine! Seriously. Our introduction to gold mining in Greenland is watching six actors whining about being in quarantine.
After what feels like only an eternity, they finally test negative and are released. Now the gold hunt can begin! So what do they do? Proceed to search for rubies. Seriously. Gold mining, forget about it. Two of the group bail on the others to hunt for gems. We're talking day one and the team is down two people already.
Next the remaining four gold prospectors proceed to try to purchase a proven gold claim. The show is billed as the search for gold. Forget about it. That's abandoned in the middle of the first episode. Now they're just purchasing a mine.
Only they aren't! They can't agree on royalties. So they decide to pan for gold. It's at this point we learn one of the actors doesn't even know what gold looks like. Seriously. I can't imagine what he thought he would be doing, but clearly he couldn't even be bothered to find out what gold is.
I don't want to spoil what happens next, but it is equally hilarious.
Ten stars.
