Candace Cameron Bure severed her ties with Hallmark in favor of GAC, effectively ending the series of Aurora Teagarden mystery movies. This is the final movie in the series in which she stars. In 2023, a prequel series of Aurora Teagarden movies set during Aurora's college days began. They star Skyler Samuels as Aurora with Marilu Henner continuing in the role of Aida, Aurora's mother.
With the exception of Lillian Tibbett, portrayed by Ellie Harvie, as "Secretary", all of the names listed as the Board of the Paranormal Research Society are actual crew members of this movie: "Board Chair/President" Michelle Samuels (Production Manager); "Board Vice Chair" Lloyd Stone (Production Designer); "Treasurer" Daniel Cipilinsky (Property Master); and "Members at Large" Martin Gregus (Costume Set Supervisor), Rob Hamilton (Gaffer), Jeff Wood (Key Grip), Ashley Lamon (Makeup Department Head), and Christina Ollson (Locations Manager).
