As the series progresses the story gets more and more ridiculous and I started to get frustrated with the poor writing and plot. This series isn't worth watching unless you really have nothing better to do. All of the actors will go on to bigger and better things but this is just below average. It just doesn't make any sense and the characters lack complete empathy, there is nothing here to evoke anything but indifference. Some of the scenes are so unsubtle in their contrived nature that they insult the viewer. Sadly somewhere in this series there's a reasonable story but they've extracted the base material and come up with a poorly constructed drama.
There's no art here, no subtlety. The story is not grounded to reality and so it is just silly. All the baddies are silly. The group of middle class girls are silly . The hairstyles are silly. It is a poor excuse to make a b movie to sell to the streaming services. In between the random acts of violence are short childish emotional conversations.

The script of "Than you run" is one of its strongest aspects. It strikes a fine balance between suspense, action, and heartfelt moments, keeping viewers hooked and invested in the unfolding story. The dialogue is well-crafted, effectively conveying the characters' thoughts, emotions, and motivations. The series skillfully explores themes of determination, resilience, and the power of human connections, providing thought-provoking moments that resonate long after the episodes end. The twists and turns in the plot keep the audience guessing, creating an addictive and thrilling viewing experience.

It was hard to finish this one. It became dumb and dumber as it goes.
Story:
The story of the serial killer doesn't contribute anything to the story until the last quarter of the show.
The drug-hunt story has been seen many times before, even performed in a better way.
Many parts of the story are just.noncredible and silly, I will not go into detail to avoid any spoilers.
Filming:
Although stating it should be located in Hamburg (Germany), Denmark and even Norway, almost all scenes in the first half of the show (and some in later episodes) were shot in or near Berlin (Germany) - I am a Berlin local knowing all of these places.
Acting:
Personally I just found those 4 girls annoying. Would not have cared if they all got killed in episode two.
It doesn't become better, in the end there was no likeable character at all.
Don't waste your time watching this one, not worth it.

I'm not sure why this has poor reviews, I was enthralled with this series beginning to end. There was one story line that I was able to work out in episode one however none of my mates caught it until episode 6 or 7 and even then they stayed guessing until the very last episode. I binged this show over two days then again all in one day, just to make sure there was nothing I missed or didn't pick up on as there was some back and forth with a few different storylines, I enjoyed it as much or more the second binge watch I did. It wasn't too over the top gore, not nightmare inducing, it was just the right amount of edge of your seat moments to keep me interested.

Then You Run: Tara O'Rourke has been raised by her grandmother after her mother's death when she was a baby. Now after her Gran dies 17 year old Tara goes to join her Dad in the Netherlands. He's a music producer who also deals in drugs along with his brother. Things start to go wrong after three of Tara's friends join her for a holiday. They flee with a large consignment of drugs, pursued by Tara's unckl, other gangsters and the police. This chase series is a very dark comedy/thriller with murder and mayhem occurring from the very start. To complicate things Tara also has reason to believe her mother is still alive. Much on the action depends on happenstance/serendipity, the teens are resigned to it. There are quite a few plot twists. A parallel narrative involves a serial killer who operates on an industrial scale. When will these threads knot together? Disturbing yet funny and engaging. Episodes Directed by Robert McKillop, Delyth Thomas, Paul Walker, based on the novel You (2014) by Zoran Drvenkar, adapted by Ben Chanan. On Sky Max. 8/10.
