Neben Hauptdarsteller Adam Sandler soll auch Ben Stiller bei dem von Netflix geplanten „Happy Gilmore“-Sequel, dessen Dreharbeiten in New Jersey bereits begonnen haben, wieder mit an Bord sein. Das berichten US-Branchenmedien.

Inszeniert wird das Sequel zu der Sportkomödie aus dem Jahr 1996 von Kyle Newackek nach einem Drehbuch, das Sandler zusammen mit Tim Herlihy geschrieben hat. Weitere Rollen haben erneut Christopher McDonald und Julie Bowen sowie neu Nick Swardson, Benny Safdie, Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley sowie NFL-Star Travis Kelce übernommen.

Bei der ifs – Internationale Filmschule Köln ist der dritte Jahrgang des „European Showrunner Training“ gestartet. Erneut unter der Leitung des renommierten dänischen Serienautors und Showrunners Jeppe Gjervig Gram wurden 13 Teilnehmende ausgewählt, darunter auch die Autorin Marie-Therese Thill aus Österreich („School of Champions”).

Admissions to indoor screens are up, but Piazza Grande open-air screenings hit by rain.

Attendance at this year’s edition of Locarno Film Festival was 6% up on 2022 at the event’s halfway point, according to the festival’s managing director Raphael Brunschwig.

Swiss public broadcaster Srg has extended its co-production agreement with the local film industry for another four years and has increased its annual budget by CHF1.5m ($1.7m) to CHF34m ($38m).

The new “Pacte de l’Audiovisuel” co-production agreement between Srg and the local film industry will run from 1 January 2024 until the end of 2027.

The annual budget available in the “Pacte” for co-producing Swiss feature films will increase from $10m (Chf 9m) to $11.45m CHF10m in response to rising costs for film production.

After the Chiefs defeated the Eagles 38-35, overcoming a 10-point deficit at half-time, Travis was pictured celebrating with Mvp Patrick Mahomes in their second Super Bowl title in four years.

Jason was seen getting emotional when he embraced his mom, who was wearing a split Eagles-Chiefs shirt, on the field after the game.

Mecole Hardman Jr. is having a Super Bowl baby! The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver tweeted that his girlfriend, Chariah Gordon, went into labour ahead of the big game.

Hardman tweeted on Sunday at 2:40 a.m., “Omg Her Water Broke .” Gordon also posted a Boomerang on her Instagram Story of her in an ambulance.

Hardman isn’t scheduled to play during the Super Bowl, since he was placed on injured reserve on Feb. 6 due to a pelvic injury. The couple announced they were pregnant in October with a gender reveal party, sharing that they were expecting a baby boy.

Laurence Fishburne (John Wick: Chapter 4) and Clifton Collins Jr. (Nightmare Alley) have signed on to star in the upcoming film Frank & Louis, which Petra Volpe is directing for Participant, Zodiac Pictures and Tyler Perry’s Peachtree & Vine Productions.

In Frank & Louis, a man serving a life sentence (Collins) takes an in-prison job caring for aging and infirm prisoners suffering from memory loss diseases—including one played by Fishburne. What starts as a self-serving mission for parole turns into a deep emotional and transformative relationship, offering a glimmer of redemption in an otherwise unforgiving place.

Volpe and Esther Bernstorff wrote the script. Participant will produce alongside Reto Schaerli and Lukas Hobi of Zodiac Pictures, and Perry and Tim Palen of Peachtree & Vine. Cora Olson is co-producing, with Jeff Skoll and Anikah McLaren of Participant serving as exec producers. McLaren, Elizabeth Haggard and Connor DeSha will oversee the project for Participant.

After almost three absurdly long years, “Stranger Things” Season 4 is just around the corner.
