The entertainment industry hasn’t always been quite as diverse and open-minded as it is today. From racial discrimination to disparity based on sexuality, as confessed by actors themselves, Hollywood has been a mess for a long time. Take, for example, when late actor Kevin Conroy revealed losing roles because of his homosexuality, before landing Batman: The Animated Series in 1992.

After facing years of discrimination, Kevin Conroy eventually shared the experiences of being a gay actor in Hollywood. Perhaps his grieving words opened the eyes of millions and became an inspiration for change. Thus, years after Conroy’s work as Batman in the Dcau, bisexual actress Stephanie Beatriz could work with ease as Batwoman in Catwoman: Hunted.

Not many people have seen "Madame Web" and an even smaller slice of the moviegoing population like the movie.
It stuck out to me that star Dakota Johnson seems to be under the impression that the film was set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I don't know if this is Sony Pictures feeding the actors and/or their agents misleading information or if movie stars like Johnson (understandably) can't be bothered to learn the nerdy logistics of these franchises.
Still, this got me thinking how the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn't have a "no previous superhero roles" bar to entry. Oscar Isaac, who played the villain in the disastrous "X-Men: Apocalypse," was then recruited to star in "Moon Knight." Christian Bale, a generation's Dark Knight, played Gorr the God Butcher in "Thor: Love and Thunder" because of his children's pleading.
In "Madame Web," Sydney Sweeney plays Julia Cornwall, the future Spider-Woman.

Photo: ‘Catwoman: Hunted’ Catwoman has been getting a lot of hype recently. Pop culture is seeing a sort of resurgence for the character in my opinion, as audiences are calling for more feminine, feminist representation on screens and in media. We’ve seen ‘Kate,’ ‘Black Widow,’ and ‘Captain Marvel,’ just to name a few bigger-budget blockbusters. On the smaller screen, ‘Ms. Marvel,’ another female-led project, is about to hit Disney+ on June 8th, and in the next year we are supposed to get The Hulk’s female counterpart, with Disney+’s, ‘She-Hulk.’ And, across the pond, ‘Doctor Who’ is currently enjoying their time with their first-ever female Doctor. That being said, as far as DC goes, the market has been rather saturated in recent years with the overuse of one Harley Quinn, in everything from 2016’s ‘Suicide Squad’ to 2020’s ‘Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn...

With movie theaters fully back up and running, HBO Max no longer has any major film releases to point to with its list of new releases for May 2022. That’s alright though as the streamer is leaning into the HBO side of its branding to offer up some fun TV releases.
The biggest HBO Max original this month is undoubtedly the return of Hacks on May 12. The first season of this comedy starred Jean Smart as a venerated Vegas comedy and Hannah Einbinder as her new millennial assistant. The first batch of episodes was excellent and even won an Emmy or two for its troubles and now season 2 will look to keep up the good vibes.
Premiering on May 15, is The Time Traveler’s Wife. This series adaptation of the 2003 novel (which in turn became a a 2009 movie) keeps up with two star-crossed lovers who can never quite make the timing work…...

Catwoman: Hunted is the latest film in the rebooted DC Animated Movie slate and is, like Batman: Soul of the Dragon, heavily influenced by films of another era. In …Dragon it was 70s kung-fu cinema and here it’s 60s spy and crime thrillers – films like Danger: Diabolik and shows like The Saint, with an opening title sequence that screamed the work of Seijun Suzuki, the man responsible for a swathe of 60s crime films in Japan. Which is apt given the plot of the film, one that sees Catwoman attempt to steal a priceless jewel puts her squarely in the crosshairs of both a powerful consortium of villains called Leviathan, Batwoman and Interpol…...

Only Catwoman would be so clever as to hide in plain sight – at a Leviathan costume party with a Super Hero/Villain theme – while crashing the event on the arm of Black Mask. Such are the hijinks of Catwoman: Hunted, the feature-length, anime-style film produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film comes to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray and Digital on February 8, 2022.
You can practically see the strategic cunning – not to mention a hint of mischief in the eyes of Catwoman in this close-up from the opening moments of Catwoman: Hunted. Elizabeth Gillies leads the star-studded voice cast as Catwoman.
If you’re going to crash a party, you might as well go all the way – by sweet-talking obviously-interested Black Mask into bringing you along as his guest in the opening scene from Catwoman: Hunted. Elizabeth Gillies and Jonathan Banks provide the...
