- Paul Atreides: I am Paul Muad'Dib Atreides, Duke of Arrakis. The Hand of God be my witness, I am the Voice from the Outer World! I will lead you to PARADISE!
- Gurney Halleck: My lord, the great houses have answered. They refuse to honor your ascendency.
- Stilgar: We await your orders, Lisan al-Gaib.
- Paul Atreides: Lead them to paradise.
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: Consider what you are about to do, Paul Atreides...
- Paul Atreides: [using the Voice] SILENCE!
- [the force knocks the Reverend Mother into other Bene Gesserit]
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: [fearfully] Abomination.
- Stilgar: The Madhi is too humble to say He is the Madhi. Even more reason to know He is! As written!
- Paul Atreides: The visions are clear now. I see possible futures, all at once. Our enemies are all around us, and in so many futures they prevail. But I do see a way, there is a narrow way through.
- Paul Atreides: There is no one in this room who can stand against me. Your mothers warned you about my coming. Fear the moment. But you think you could have a chance. But you are afraid, what if I could be the One? This could be the moment you've been praying for, all your life.
- Narrator: Power over spice is power over all.
- Stilgar: Madhi, what do you foresee for us?
- Paul Atreides: Green Paradise.
- Stilgar: Lisan al-Gaib, show us the way!
- Paul Atreides: If I go south, all my visions lead to horror. Millions of people dead because of me.
- Gurney Halleck: Because you lose control?
- Paul Atreides: Because I gain it.
- Gurney Halleck: You'll get yourself in trouble.
- Chani: This is none of your business.
- Gurney Halleck: Rabban Harkonnen himself killed my family and gave me this scar to remember him by, this is all of my business.
- Emperor Shaddam IV: [to Paul] Do you know why I killed him? Because, he was a man who believed in the rules of the heart, but the heart is not meant to rule. In other words, your father was a weak man.
- Princess Irulan: Muad'Dib. The prophet? The one who points the way. These are our own religious patterns aren't they. This is our doing. Muad'Dib... means kangaroo mouse. An unusual warname for a Fremen. What if Paul Atreides were still alive?
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: Enough. This must not come out. Even to your father's ears, do you understand?
- Princess Irulan: I do, Reverend Mother.
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: If Paul is alive he likely knows the truth. And should the great houses learn that your father was behind the liquidation of the Atreides, your father will face war and lose the throne.
- Princess Irulan: Then what hope is there?
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: Hope? We are Bene Gesserit. We don't hope, we plan. Paul is not our only prospect. The Baron's youngest nephew Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen will inherit Arrakis. He may be the answer.
- Princess Irulan: Feyd-Rautha? He's psychotic.
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: That's irrelevant. The question is: can we control him? And I intend to find out.
- Jessica: [to Alia] You're right, if we want to protect your brother, we need all the Fremen to believe in the prophecy.
- Alia Atreides: We must convert the non-believers one by one. We need to start with the weaker ones, the vulnerable ones, the ones who fear us.
- Jessica: [conversing through telepathy] You should have believed. You chose the wrong side.
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: "Side?" You of all people should know, there are no sides... Reverend Mother.
- Alia Atreides: Mother, what's happening?
- Jessica: Your brother attacks the great houses. The holy war begins!
- Paul Atreides: [Asked to choose a war name] How do you call the uh, little desert mouse again?
- Chani: Muad'Dib!
- [Shishakli and others repeat the name. Some of the Fremen chuckle. Stilgar is indignant]
- Stilgar: Muad'Dib! No no no, shh, shh! Muad'Dib is wise in the ways of the desert. Muad'Dib makes his own water. The constellation in the stars that points to the north, which we also call Muad'Dib, shows us the way. Muad'Dib... that is a powerful name!
- Paul Atreides: I could fire the House atomics at the main spice fields. He who can destroy the thing has the real control of it.
- Emperor Shaddam IV: Muad'Dib. Some new Fremen prophet.
- Princess Irulan: It's not the first time we've had frictions with the Fremen.
- Emperor Shaddam IV: None of this magnitude. So, my dear daughter... how would you deal with this prophet?
- Princess Irulan: If this Muad'Dib is a religious figure, you can't use direct force. Repression only makes a religion flourish. You'll only end up humiliating yourself.
- Emperor Shaddam IV: You underestimate my Sardaukar.
- Princess Irulan: *You* underestimate the power of faith.
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: Her Highness proves once again that she was my most acute student.
- Emperor Shaddam IV: Send assassins.
- Princess Irulan: No, prophets get stronger when they die. Let the conflict on Arrakis turn into war, you then bring peace, as a savior.
- Emperor Shaddam IV: You'll be a formidable empress.
- Stilgar: Watch out for trapdoor spiders, and the giant centipedes are very nasty. Not the big ones, the big ones are harmless. The little ones though...
- [Holds his hands about two feet apart]
- Paul Atreides: Look how your Bene Gesserit propaganda has taken root. Some of them already think I'm their messiah. Others... false prophet. I must sway the non-believers. If we get enough of them to support us, we can halt spice production. It's the only way I can get to the Emperor.
- Jessica: Your father didn't believe in revenge.
- Paul Atreides: Yeah well, I do.
- Chani: Where you're from, does water really fall from the sky?
- Paul Atreides: Oh, yes. Sometimes it rains for weeks on Caladan. Where you see sand here, imagine water. Our castle stands on cliffs high above the sea. If you dive in, you can't reach the bottom.
- Chani: You *dive* in?
- Paul Atreides: Yes. It's called swimming.
- Chani: I don't believe you, Usul.
- Paul Atreides: [to Alia] Sister. Father is dead. Shouldn't you go back to the stars, be with him? I'm afraid I won't have enough time to fix things before you're coming. This world is beyond cruelty.
- [Not actually prescient of the man's past, only of the correct words to say to manipulate him onto his path]
- Paul Atreides: Your grandmother died nine moons ago. She was blind in one eye. A rock struck her in the face while she was crossing through the Belt. She was twelve years old when this happened. In those days, Arrakis was known by a Fremen name... Dune.
- [the man's eyes say that it's all true. He falls to his knees]
- Huge Fighter: *Lisan Al-Gaib!*
- Princess Irulan: In the shadows of Arrakis lie many secrets. But the darkest of them all may remain... the end of House Atreides.
- Paul Atreides: It's not a prophecy. It's a story! One that you keep telling over and over, but it's not their story, it's yours. They deserve to be led by one of their own. What your people did to this planet... is heartbreaking.
- Jessica: We gave these people something to hope for!
- Paul Atreides: *That's not hope!*
- Gurney Halleck: [Playing baliset and singing] My stillsuit's full of piss, my head is caked in sand, save me from these utter morons, another world, another land.
- Paul Atreides: I'm happy to finally meet you... cousin.
- Feyd-Rautha: Cousin? Is that right? Well, you won't be the first family member I've killed.
- Reverend Mother Mohiam: Desire and humiliation. Those are his levers. If Feyd-Rautha prevails on Arrakis, we shall know how to control him.
- [after slicing a subordinate's throat, before he even hits the ground]
- Feyd-Rautha: Take his body to my quarters. My darlings are hungry, there was no food on the way over here.
