I've not seen the "original" movie so this is a all together new film for me and I liked it.
The plot is simple. A female police investigator works with a forensic specialist/old flame to solve a series of murders in which, young girls are killed on their birthdays.
I thought this had a decent story that moved at a steady pace and kept a suspenseful atmosphere. I've read where other reviewers believe this to be a bad copy of the original so if I liked this, maybe I'll look the other one up and see how it compares. I liked it though and I wouldn't mind recommending it for those who like crime dramas or thrillers.

I watched the original Malayalam movie a few months ago and was really impressed. The hindi version is good too even better if you haven't watched the original. The writers have also tweaked the storyline. Radhika was brilliant for the role; can't believe we see so less of her. Vikrant Massey could've done a better job as the easy going yet genius role of the forensic expert. Vindu Dara Singh was a waste and Prachi Desai was decent in her limited role.
Talking about the negatives, there are quite a few moments where the movie loses its grip and you'll be yawning. The screenplay could've been tighter and the unnecessary drama which had no relation to the story should've been avoided. The eerie backdrop of Mussoorie was perfect for the movie but the BGM sadly doesn't match with it.
It is still a decent watch, do give it a shot if you have nothing to do this weekend.

Forensic; as the title may conspicuously suggest, this is an out-and-out murder mystery thriller with some corresponding ingredients coming straight from the field of forensic research. The premise promised to entangle the onlookers in its veil of palpable tension and trickery and I'm happy to announce it duly delivered.
However, If we put all these investigative facets to one side, we are left with crass humor and a poorly chopped-out screenplay. Thank goodness, the performances for the most part are applaudable.
All the primary figures did excellent, even if some of them were a bit theatrical, a bit over the top at times. Nevertheless, it's a neatly made thriller that works primarily due to the story being told as well as the intertwined dynamics of all the characters.

A remake of the 2020 Malyalam film with the same name starring Tovino Thomas & Mamta Mohandas , the plot involves a serial killer who is on the loose in Mussoorie, brutally killing young girls on their birthdays.
Radhika Aapte as the police officer investigating the case and Vikrant Massey as the forensics guy look through the clues and try to bring the killer to book. Will the duo who have a romantic past forget their differences & emerge victors is what this film is all about.
Cinematography is good, hilly terrain, misty mountains have been beautifully showcased!!
Aapte and Massey have given decent performances even though Massey seems to be hamming in a few scenes. Rest of the cast isn't bad either with Vindu Dara Singh, Ved Prakash Mathur, Rohit Roy & Prachi Desai lending good support to the protagonists.
Even though the twist in the end is nice and virtually inconceivable, it could've been shot better. It lacks the shock value and fails to create adrenaline rush moments. This cudve been done better.
If you don't compare it with the Mallu original, this one's a decent one time watch.
My rating .. 3/5.. Adios 🙂

It says it's a ZEE5 Original film, but it is exact copy and paste of film with same name also available in HINDI.
I don't see a point making this film.

Overacting and useless dialogues and songs. Irritating. Can't understand how the makers don't understand that it is getting towards irritating it's viewers.
'Forensic' is a whodunnit psychological crime thriller that unravels the identity of a serial killer with the aid of the forensic division. The plot centers on a string of kidnappings that take place in Mussoorie and the investigation officer and the forensic department's efforts to solve the case. The movie introduces the concept of children committing serial murders by using the case of Amarjeet Sada, who is known all over the world as "India's youngest serial killer". It also sheds light on the psychological factors and early trauma that contribute to the development of serial killers and psychopaths.
Director Vishal Furia's remake of the Malayalam movie of the same name that starred Tovino Thomas and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. After retaining some of the original story's elements, this Hindi remake includes a number of unexpected twists that create a completely unique experience. And even if you've seen the original, it wouldn't be incorrect to say that everyone will still enjoy a heart-pounding experience thanks to the fast-paced screenplay written by Vishal Kapoor, Ajit Shashikant Jagtap, and Adhir Bhatt. A whodunnit crime thriller requires a gloomy aesthetic, which the film has in spades.
It begins with the tragic tale of an eight-year-old boy whose violent father preferred his daughter over him. As a result of this, the boy became a dangerous and vengeful individual. The next sequence shows the girls going missing on their birthdays, followed by Megha Sharma, the investigating officer, searching for the victim. When they discovered that these innocent girls were being murdered, they enlisted the help of forensic expert Johnny Khanna to find the perpetrator.
Right from the beginning, the intense atmosphere and dark tone sets up the mood of the film. The dramatic twists and turns of the story, which are required for these genres, as well as the fact that it is unpredictable from the beginning, make it the most intriguing aspect. Many crime thrillers in Hindi cinema, such as Drishyam and others, have shown cops failing to find the culprit; however, this film demonstrates the prowess of police and other departments in attempting to solve crimes. The film depicts in great detail how forensic investigators examine crime scenes for evidence, such as blood, fluid, fingerprints, or residue, in order to determine how a crime occurred.
Forensic features Radhika and Vikrant in prominent roles. Vikrant Massey plays a convincing forensic expert who is meticulous in gathering crime-related evidence and making it appear authentic to viewers. He has some funny one-liners and his 'Johnny Johnny' riddle began as a clever trick before becoming a running gag. Radhika Apte instantly makes you root for Megha, ably depicting an honest officer who wants to crack the case and save the victims. Despite Vikrant and Radhika's characters' romantic past, both of them make a great team together. Dr. Ranjana, played by Prachi Desai, is a pivotal character in the story. She is convincing as a child psychiatrist.
Another highlight is the setting of a small town and the naturally beautiful shots of the mountains and the woods. Backed by superb performances and strong writing, 'Forensic' is an engaging edge-of-the-seat crime thriller.

A series of gruesome murders of young girls without any substantial clues to follow up with rattles the Police Department in Mussoorie. The investigating officer Meghaa Sharma (Radhika Apte) is leading the case, but has to work with Johnny Khanna (Vikrant Massey), an ace forensic expert with a penchant for investigative detection. The problem is that they have had a past that Meghaa wants to forget, and Johnny is eager to rekindle the lost romance. But that aside, the team starts putting the pieces together, largely using the forensic findings, and yet the murders continue. Suddenly, a video clip on the web surfaces that shows Anya, their only niece who binds them together, carting out a deadbody from a certain location. Shocked and outwitted at the development, both are taken out of the case and Meghaa is confined to house arrest while Anya vanishes from the household without any message, complicating matters further.
Is Anya involved in the murders becomes Johnny and Meghaa's sole objective. Meghaa is helped out of her house arrest by Johnny and both set out, running against time and in an adverse backdrop that impedes their search. Yet, the case has to be solved, and they aren't really ready for the disclosure. Honestly speaking, neither could I guess it. It's a violent end to the saga when the serial murderer is finally tracked down, and Anya is saved from her abductor.
Forensic makes for a gripping watch over its 128 minutes running time. It represents the dark side of human psychology and how people deal with their grief and sorrow. Vikrant Massey aces in his role of the forensic investigator, followed by Prachi Desai in a stunning role of a psychologist helping the investigating team. Radhika Apte tends to go over the top at times, but has punchy dialogues to deliver. Mussoorie looks heavenly as the backdrop. Director Vishal Furia manages to keep the suspense alive till the end. Credit must be given to writers Adhir Bhatt and Ajit Jagtap, Adrija Gupta for music and Anshul Chobe for the fabulous cinematography. Do watch it, it may be macabre but is certainly a quality presentation by Zee5.

I watched the original Malyalam movie and this one , respectively within a gap of 10 hrs.
The original movie was exciting however the bollywood version is much better in comparison.
The editing, screenplay of forensic are way better than the original. The story moves at a rapid pace with only a few dull moments that can be ignored.
This movie has altered the story line as compared to the original movie and I must say that the team did a fantastic job in covering all the loopholes that the original one left.
Acting wise Vikrant Massey and Prachi Desai take the cake. Radhika Apte aptly supports them as well. Vindoo Dara Singh and other supporting actors did a great job.
Overall the movie won't disappoint you, don't listen to bollywood haters and just enjoy the experience.

Acting and editing wise ,movie is avrg but story is good, suspense and thrill is good, and consequently it is a good one time watch.
Hvnt seen the south one but this one is ok standalone.
Bollywood should learn dearly from south and make such stories themselves.

Better to avoid this movie, poor acting, poor direction.. Better to watch Malyalam movie. Acting is mediocre haven't expected from Radhika and Vikrant... Atleast take pahadi if you kept surname as RAWAT..

Oh god what a movie!
The very first salute to the writer and the director the way they write and tell the story is superb. Another thanks too ott for giving the brilliant actor the brilliant story. Vikranr sir what to say about his acting. In the climax, the expressions of prachi mam is mind blowing. Never expected acting done by prachi mam. At last i only want to say no one will regret after watching the movie.

This is the best thriller movie i have watched recently.
Best part is casting - all actors are amazing in delivering their services. Especially, Vikrant and Radhika. Both are my favorite.. it's like combo package to see both brilliant actors on screen.
Story line - trust me guys it's comes with best and strong story line, hard to crack the end, but at the end plot you will be shocked.
Specially mentioning to all the actors involved in the filming of the movie. Again, special thanks and mention to Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte. Both the darling crack the case at the end.. So guys do watch and enjoy your time if you are crime thriller lover..

A thriller element ..with family drama...and the forensic element is just too pretensive and not really helpful ..when you try to fit in something forceful.
Absolutely loved it until the last minute. Fabulous direction and plot. Love the movie. Great to watch. I love to watch thriller movies and watched almost all thriller movies and series and I would say this is one of the best. Impossible to make it out who is the culprit.

Review By Kapil Siddharth
'Forensic' directed by Vishal Furia, produced by Deepak Mukut, Varun Bagla and Mansi Bagla, is streaming on Zee5. It is an adaptation of Malayalam film 'Forensic' released in 2020.
The film is set in Mussorie. Little girls are getting murdered on their birthdays. Police Officer Megha (Radhika Apte) tries to solve the mystery with Forensic expert Johny (Vikrant Massey). Both of them were in a relationship. Megha's niece Aanya (Harbandana Kaur) lives with her and Megha doesnt allow her father Abhay (Rohit Bose Roy) to meet Aanya as she thinks that Abhay is responsible for the death of another daughter Aadya and wife Divya (Zeba Sherrif) . Abhay is Johny's elder brother. Aanya visits Dr. Ranjana (Prachi Desai) for counseling sessions. Meanwhile Aanya also goes missing. Where is Aanya ? Who is killing little girls ? What is the motive of the killer ? Will Megha and Johny catch the culprit ? The climax answers all these questions.
Vishal Furia's direction is neat. Though the film is an adaptation, there are a lot of differences between the two films. The writing by Mansi Bagla, Adhir Bhatt, Ajit Shashikant Jagtap and Vishal Kapoor has its moments and the writers have made many changes in the original script. The writing is engaging enough. The detailing of forensic and how the department works to solve a mystery is a novelty for Hindi cinema. Also the twist in the climax may seem over the top yet comes as a surprise.
Vikrant Massey is noteworthy. Radhika Apte is competent. Prachi Desai is appealing. Rohit Bose Roy is acceptable. Vindu Dara Singh, Subrata Dutta, Anant Mahadevan, Harbandana Kaur, Narendra Gupta and Jatin Siyal are passable.
Anshul Chobey's cinematography is admirable. Adrija Gupta's music is mediocre. The songs are not placed well and seem forced. Abhijeet Deshpande's editing could have been sharper. Jitendra Mhatre's makeup needed to be much better at certain places. In a nutshell 'Forensic' may not be an exceptional film like the original but it is watchable due to decent performances, interesting plot and the shocking twist.

One more disaster from from Zee5 known for making below average contents and still takes audiences for granted thinking they can present something like daily soap and still work. Feel sorry for Vikrant making horrible choices and scripts last couple of movies and comparing his work in Criminal Justice which was incredible. Radhika apte was wasted and all other characters made sure acting skills are way below par. I wasted my 2 hours pls you dont hence this comments and feedback. Stay away.

Didn't hold up to my expectations . With such a star cast expected much more.
Story is Good but not well executed. Performances are superb though so can watch it once.
Vikrant Massey has nailed it as usual .
