At the start of the 20th Century, the most popular form of entertainment in the world was the traveling circus. A century and a quarter later, it's just a word to many people. So this half-hour movie from midway between the day times is a great record of a bygone day.
Joe E. Brown introduces and narrates the true tale of the restoration of many of the elaborately adorned cars built between 1880 and 1925 that paraded down the street to tell you the circus was coming, with all the clowns, wild animals, acrobats, pretty ladies on horseback, and oddities in the Midway that fascinated young and old alike. It's great to see them all looking good, see the excitement of the people at the parade, and hear the steam calliope blare out "In The Good Old Summertime" for the Fourth of July in 1963.
