Taís Araújo stated about her role in this series: "One of my intentions was, 'The show will be a hit, and open the doors for women of color on TV drama'. But the series just flopped so epically, I failed so epically, it was a slap on the face. Then I feared the very opposite: 'I closed the doors for black women on TV'."
