- TriviaAlex Zamm originally cast Carlos Alazraqui to provide the voice of Papi for the sequel and even had his lines recorded. Alazraqui once lent his voice to Gidget, the Taco Bell Chihuahua Dog who appeared in Taco Bell advertisements from the late 90's and early 2000's. But Zamm thought that some fans might find it disappointing not to have George Lopez reprising his role as Papi, so he gave it a second thought and asked Lopez to return to voice Papi in the sequel, in which he agreed to.
- GoofsThough the poodle is introduced as female and is voiced by a woman, when the dogs are in the park you can clearly see that the dog is male.
- Quotes
Papi: [Papi is teaching the puppies how to dig] Bueno! Bueno, bueno, dig, my puppies! Dig as if you were burying your favorite bone!
Appoline: [the puppies don't realize that a stuck-up French poodle is behind them and they accidentally flick dirt on her. Appoline shrieks] Sacre bleu! Oh, you idiots! You got me dirty!
Papi Jr.: [to Appoline] Sorry.
Lala: [apologizing to Appoline] I'm sorry.
Papi: [to Appoline] Pardon me, senorita, my kids got a little carried away with their digging.
[the puppies bark]
Appoline: [to Papi, thinking he is too unimportant to speak to her] And, who said you can speak to me?
Chloe: [to Delta, Sebastian and Bimini about Appoline] Uh-oh, it's *her* again! I'll be right back.
[Chloe leaves to find Papi]
Appoline: [to Papi] Well, you look like a stray! How did you even get *in* here?
Chloe: [whispering to Papi] Papi, what's going on?
Appoline: Quelle terrible! As if there weren't *enough* of you *peasants*!
Chloe: [not falling for the accent] Oh, enough with that fake accent! Everyone already knows you're from The Valley!
Appoline: [scoffs] Your little fluff balls ruined my perm!
Chloe: If there's a problem here, you say it to *me* but leave my kids out of it!
Papi: Easy, Mama Bear. She's just all mad because she looks like a big, angry Q-Tip!

Just a silly movie about Chihuahua parents raising their pups to be honest citizens.
Not a movie to 'think' about but just the right level of fluff to keep human parents and children entertained for awhile.
Good guys & bad guys keep the story going.
There really isn't much a review can say about this type of flick -- you have to be the sort of person that likes movies with talking dogs on a sleuthing mission that turns out to be most positive.
Give it a look for very light weight entertainment!
