The manga comic "Niccolo" which the boys in the movie are inspired by, is a comic book adaptation of the political treatise 'The Prince', written in 1513 by Italian political philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli. The comic was created specifically for this movie, with a complete storyline about the shepherd Niccolo, who gets his family murdered by the soldiers of an evil empire, leading Niccolo to revenge, fighting back the tyranny and trying to become the new king. The full story was written by director Oliver Ussing and screenwriter 'Søren Grinderslev Hansen', with the Spanish artist 'Ignacio Ferraras' illustrating the manga.

Better the Devil You Know

What an amazing film. Top notch acting on all fronts (it's so well done you feel like you're a fly on the wall watching everything happen in real life.) The last movie that kicked me this hard in the guts was Boys Don't Cry.

PLEASE if anyone knows how I can get a hold of the soundtrack for this film, contact me. I searched online and was able to at least find the book this movie is based on, The Nerds' Transformation. But no soundtrack info seems to be online anywhere. The music is incredibly good and makes a beautiful backdrop to the brutality onscreen.
