A low budget film that punches above it's weight class. A clever idea for a film. If the budget was bumped up, they had an A-list actor and if wrote it less as a horror film; I could see this getting a following.

Nothing classic, but an enjoyable little contained thriller. The central macguffin scene is an entertaining gag, there's some decent gore chase setpieces. All in all it feels like a first time director who hasn't quite gotten a handle on how to connect scenes and move the story along naturally. Lots of the movie takes place in a handfull of locations, and where a more experienced director (or maybe a larget budget) can make a few settings maintain momentum, here it feels much more like treading water waiting for the next action.
It's probably not going to be a favorite of anyone watching, but a few good kills, decent performances, and flair in the writing make it worth a stream.
Also, if you like Richard Kind, he gets a few monologues and to hang out in a nice suit, so there's that.

Stumbling upon the 2022 action thriller "Run and Gun" by random chance and seeing that the movie had Mark Dacascos on the cast list, of course I had to sit down and watch what writer and director Christopher Borrelli had to offer.
And while "Run and Gun" certainly was watchable, it just wasn't a particularly outstanding or memorable action thriller. In fact, there are far better action thrillers out there, which makes "Run and Gun" feel like a very bland and generic one actually. It is good enough for a single viewing, but that is about all it had to offer. And I bet 24 hours after having seen it, the memory of the movie will be fading away.
The storyline told in "Run and Gun", as written by Christopher Borrelli, was just too mediocre and bland. There was nothing riveting or particularly exciting about the things that transpired in the movie. And the narrative didn't really have much of any ongoing momentum or drive, so it felt like the action thriller was mostly running in Neutral gear.
I wasn't familiar with Ben Milliken (playing Ray), whom had the lead part in the movie. He was actually a fair enough actor and worked well enough with the limitations imposed by an improper script and storyline. Mark Dacascos was good in the movie, just a shame that he hadn't a larger role to play. It was actually quite fun to watch Richard Kind in the role that he portrayed.
If you enjoy action thrillers, then "Run and Gun" is not the best of choices.
I am rating "Run and Gun" a less than mediocre four out of ten stars.

Would not call it B movie gold but give it a shot there are much worse big studio films. Some of the story is cliche however their few unique character development moments that would be fun to watch in a limited series. Bumped it a star for the cowboy bebop reference!

What a load of crap. A weakly written story, diabolically directed and cringe worthy acting. Don't bother watching unless you really have nothing else better to do, like mowing the lawn or cleaning the toilet.

After leaving a life of crime and violence, Ray is a reformed good guy, enjoying a quiet family life in the 'burbs. But when his past is discovered, Ray is blackmailed into one last job to collect a mysterious package. After a deadly double-cross, he finds himself wounded and on the run from ruthless assassins who will stop at nothing to get what he has. Now, with the lives of his loved ones hanging in the balance and danger at every turn, Ray's only hope is to draw upon his violent past to survive.
Good, very good, fun, with that touch of acidic humor that we love, ironic and sensitive at the same time... With convincing performances and an engaging narrative, the smart guy being made of cake and the fool being smart, good twists, great ending, adorable...

I had forgotten my IMDB credentials but this movie was so manure that I had to go through the extra work to leave this review.
If you have seen The Room, this is a sequel to that. Not thematically but otherwise. Not as funny, but definitely cringe-inducing in such a fashion that it will leave your face permanently disfigured.
Script is written by a child who likes dank memes, has never heard of "show, don't tell" nor has any idea how to people speak. Combine that with director that has no idea how to move the movie forward and just makes the most banal choices. Useless main character with whiny attitude. Even more useless bad guys with deep philosophical thoughts like "I like to imagine eating T-Rex when I am eating chicken". Terrible acting. Plot twists that make your hand start searching for nearest box cutter to end your life so you would stop feeling this deep vicarious embarrassment. This movie has it all.
The only thing that keeps you watching this thing is the curiosity on what idiotic thing will happen next. I guess that counts for something.

The story is not particularly strong, there is a lot that I wish was explained better, and the movie all-around feels like there are some scenes that are missing, although I wouldn't be able to tell you what would happen in them.
However, this is a fun movie. It is the perfect amount of goofy to go with the action, the acting is well done I thought, and the action itself isn't half bad.
There is something missing, maybe a plotline or something that would make it feel more complete, but overall that feeling of something left out kinda makes me jones for a sequel. Also, the movie has some hint of reality in the form the action takes, and it could be the director's choice to not allow the audience to know everything and that missing information is what feels like a gap.
I had a lot of fun watching it, I will likely watch it again and I will recommend it to friends. I have never left a review on here before but saw a user who gave it 1/10 stars and felt like that was so unjust that I had to leave my uneducated consumer opinion.

The ray, or run and gun was a fun and watchable movie. It might not have been overly great, but there were certain things that made it good. The strongest part of this film to me is certainly the cast as each give their own and through the seriousness there is also fun with their characters to be had. Ray was in prison but he reformed and has a good job, now with a girlfriend and child. But he gets a chance to make it big with one more job and so he does it and gets in with bad people. Richard kinds character having a deep conversation with Ray about the Mandela effect was one of the funniest things and I liked it for that. Overall it's a decent action film that was made well.

A really terrible flick with little content and no definitive narrative to talk about at all.
This movie must have cost zip to make. The storyline seems to be made up as they go along. The acting and the script seem to battle it out over which was worse.
The acting is pretty grim and if this leading actor is looking for a future in making movies they will all be You Tube bound. Seriously, it's just a mish mash of rhubarb.
I watched this on Netflix so at least I expected much better than that was doled out to the public. I can't think of anything memorable about the film. Sorry, but do not waste your time on this film it's junk.

Criminal operator Ray (Ben Milliken) barely escapes with his life. He's hiding from a crime lord. He tries to go straight with an insurance job, his girlfriend, and her son. Grayson (Richard Kind) discovers his secret and blackmails him into one last job. It goes badly and he encounters Billings (Brad William Henke).
This is a small Australian crime thriller comedy. Ben Milliken is not quite leading man material but that's fine. Indies have limitations. The story is pretty basic except for the Mandela effect. That's a fun twist. My one big issue is that Ray should be smarter. He's set up as a superior street-smart criminal. When the tire gets slashed, he should know right away that someone is coming after the package. He can't waste time changing the tire. He needs to run and hide. He's also a little slow in a few other times. It's annoying when a smart character isn't quite so smart. The writing also has a few hiccups. A lot of this needs to be a bit smarter.
