I binge watched all 4 episodes the moment it got released.
From the word go in episode one it catches our attention and makes us glued to the screen
The story the direction the editing is just wow
Generally the sequel fizzles out but this one lives to the expectations
The only sad part is that it got over in just 4 episodes
It's a must watch
Regards Dr Ronak Shah.

After season 1 I had great expectations but this one disappoints me, especially the last episode deserved far great ending to the story telling. Looking forward to 2.0 hopefully will be better to 1.5 and similar to 1.0.
No words to Express this masterpiece .

My God What a Show Man, When I came to know that there are just only 4 episodes in the series, I thought what on earth can someone show so much details in just 4 episodes but Neeraj Sir have a another plans. Those four episodes are full of so much details that complete the storyline of season 1. Totally Awesome the name "Special Ops 1.5" totally justifies the show as it is a mini series that completes the story of season 1.

Well firstly, A very big salute to all the undercover heroes who are working tirelessly to make our country safe from all the perspectives. Throughout the entire journey, I witnesses a sense of pride, trust and loyalty towards your country it's citizens their safety and towards your work. Himmat Singh's is the story of all the unsung heroes who do not expect anything in return, inspite of knowing that their lives are constantly put in danger, their mission can get compromised still they give their level best to never disappoint themselves and their people. Neeraj Sir always takes us all on a rollercoaster ride and this particular one made sure that it would be worth the three hours or four hours one has invested in his entire day. I am eagerly looking forward to the new season of this particular series as it has been left on a cliffhanger withe the nepal operation.

SpecialOps 1.5 is a middling prequel with nothing to write home about. The spy thriller is saved to a large extent by Kay Kay Menon's brilliant performance. However it fails to live up to the massive expectations set up by a terrific season 1. Overall a passable affair that lacks the thrills with hardly any surprises.

Special ops 1.5:the himmat story is an action crime drama thriller directed by neeraj pandey and shivam nair. Here are the positives and negatives-
Performances-kay kay menon is on a roll here. His expressions, dialogue delivery everything seems a perfect match. He is himmat impersonified. Aftab shivdasani within his limited screenspace does a commendable job. Vinay pathak as usual is very good in his narration. The supporting cast is commendable with a special mention of aadil khan. He just acts like a smiling assassin. Too good!!
Cinematography-cinematography is brilliant. The long drawn out sequences are brilliantly captured following character to character. In the first few minutes itself there is a 180 degree shot which is very good. It is too good.
Action choreography-though there is not much action involving the leads but two action sequences will surely grab your attention. One between aadil khan and maria ryaboshapka and another between aftab shivdasani and some special commandos. Those were some intricately shot sequences.
Background music and sound design- the background music is intriguing and gives an adrenaline making you want for more of the next series of sequences. The sound design is brilliant. During the gunshots and stabs, the sound was pretty good.
Writing and screenplay-the sequences will only attract viewers when the writing and especially the screenplay is engaging. These two departments tick off all the ingredients of an espionage thriller. The writing in the middle episodes was complex which i personally like very much. The last sequence between kay kay menon and gautami kapoor will bring some tears in your eyes.
This a well made and impeccable show. Eagerly waiting for the next season. I rate it 10 out of 10.

Review By Kamal K
'Special Ops 1.5' is just as sharp, tight, engrossing, and exhilarating as the original season one. The way the two web series have been linked together with one another, that is probably the best part of this new season. Furthermore, the makers have strewn subtle touches of humour throughout the show with the dialogues and one-liners being so refreshing. They serve as a wonderful counterpoint to the ongoing heavy-duty spy work. And, with only four episodes, Neeraj Pandey once again employs his wits. He knows nicely that any origin story about just one character and not the entire spy network doesn't warrant an entire 8-19 episodic season. The plot as well isn't as high-stakes as its predecessor, season one. Acting-wise, Kay Kay Menon is just knocking it out of the park. Especially the final emotional scene. Also, Vinay Pathak, Adil Khan, Parmeet Sethi, and Kali Prasad Mukherjee are all absolutely apt in their parts. Smaller or bigger screen space doesn't matter, as they all came together as a unit to make the bigger picture look absolutely outstanding.
The surprise package, however, is the newcomer Aishwarya Sushmita. She is someone who perfectly personifies the seductive, vulnerable, and treacherous powers of a honey trap in the world of espionage.
Negative
The final episode ends on a rushed and flat note in comparison to the quality that came before it, especially when compared to the crackerjack finale of the first season of 'Special Ops'. Also, the final killing of the main antagonist could have been extended a bit more and not done in just a jiffy. Aftab Shivdasani also feels like he tries too hard to fit into his role, and his character is a dead giveaway of a major change that occurs in 'Special Ops' after his wife is introduced on the show. Also, the main conflict on which the mission is based could have been explored a little more thoroughly. Not to mention Kay Kay Menon's make-up to make him look younger, is not at all on point. Even though you don't want to notice it but it somehow just is in your face every time.
Verdict
'Special Ops 1.5' is a raw gem in Neeraj Pandey's profile of spy thrillers. It may be slightly low than the first part, but it is deserving of every minute of your time for its taut script, sharp plot, engrossing screenplay and exhilarating performances by the entire cast. Besides his makeup, Kay Kay Menon didn't put a single foot wrong in the entire show and leads it from the front. Definitely a Must Watch.

It feels so good for a change when you expect something out of a show, and that show full fills it to a greater extent. No words remaining for the performances and storyline. This time it is more about the screenplay, what a gem. Completely mesmerizing. Cant wait for the next one.

Very smoothly the story flows, well executed, very well acting and not stretching the story for like 8-9 episodes was also good.
But somehow we needed a little more in terms of content, same old concept, finding the rebel and killing him, losing your dear ones, being cheated by your own people.
But it's kk out there, you must watch it once!

Neeraj pandey does it again. U think its predictable and he gets u thr. K k menon was gud as always. Though id have loved to have seen original k k. They tried making him look young and in proccess killed his biggest asset his facial expressions. Loved it.

Web series review: Special Op's 1.5 streaming on Disney Hotstar
#sanjuzzreviews
#specialops1point5
I maybe a little late on this one, but here goes .. Special Ops 1.5 is prequel to the fantastic Season 1 and delves deeper into the past of the protagonist Himmat Singh ( KK Menon). "Himmat Singh...Himmat Singh kaise bana" is the tagline of this series.
The series focuses on the story of Himmat Singh as a rookie agent and how situations, betrayals, tragedies give him a crash course in life and enable him to come out stronger in the years to come.
The story dwells primarily in the past, on Himmat's earliest cases, his camaraderie with his friend and fellow agent Aftab Shivdasani (good to see him after a long time in a meaningful role) as they try to catch a rogue agent and prevent India's defence secret's from being leaked out.
The entire cast including KK Menon, Aftab, Vinay Pathak, Parmeet Sethi among others have done a flawless job. Slick direction, fast paced narrative with a lot of adrenaline rush moments are the high points of this season
It is a 4 part miniseries(only!!)... And you actually feel sad when the series ends 😢. I strongly felt we could have seen Himmat Singh in 4 more episodes. But alas, that is not to be!!
Extremely enjoyable .. a must watch for those who haven't already done so!!
I will give it a 4/5... Need more of these for sure.. Adios 🙂

'Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story' is framed, like its first season, in flashbacks, with Delhi Police officer Abbas Shiekh (Vinay Pathak) narrating Himmat's journey to the Inquiry Committee Officers - Naresh Chaddha (Parmeet Sethi) and DK Banerjee (Kali Prasad Mukherjee). This transports us back in time to the day of the 2001 Parliament attack, as well as Himmat's theory of what happened. Following that is another case, in which Maninder Singh (Aadil Khan), an ex-RAW agent, possesses sensitive information that could jeopardise the nation's security. Along with Himmat's quest to become the best RAW agent, the core of the drama is a cat-and-mouse game between Maninder and Himmat and his squad, majorly Vijay Kumar (Aftab Shivdasani).
Helmed by Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair, this four-part espionage thriller delves deeper into why Himmat Singh, the RAW agent, is the way he is. Pandey's venture has all ingredients from his universe: a stellar ensemble cast, a gripping and intense plot, and a tadka of roadblocks that make every situation tough to overcome. All they do is offer a busy narrative that weaves in and out of the lives of multiple characters who have worked for or with Himmat Singh.
Kay Kay Menon is the saving grace of this enterprise. He is seen wading his way through the dark alleys of politics, red-tapism and honey-trapping in this installment, which makes the show worth watching. His poker-faced remarks, "It Hurts When The Country Suffers Because Of Politics", as well as the emotional scenes of him losing his assets, make it worthwhile to watch.
Apart from Menon, who excels in almost every frame, Aftab Shivdasani's character arc as Vijay Kumar is well-developed. Vinay Pathak as Abbas Shiekh is the one who interestingly narrates Himmat's story. Maninder Singh is played convincingly by Aadil Khan. Aishwarya Sushmita, a model-turned-actor, is elegant in her debut appearance as Karishma. On the other hand, Shiv Jyoti looks promising as Anita Sharma opposite young Himmat Singh. And Gautami Kapoor, who plays Himmat's wife Saroj, has a significant part in this show.
The production value is high, which adds to the overall appearance of the series. In order to justify the long chases, the makers have shot across Mumbai, Delhi, and multiple locations like Malaysia, Ukraine, and Mauritius. Overall, Sudheer Palsane and Arvind Singh's cinematography is stunning and the background music by Advait Nemlekar gels along with the theme.
So far, the cliffhanger ending of this part indicates that Neeraj Pandey is creating a Special Ops universe with more stories to be discovered. That being said, you must also watch this espionage thriller if you want to be a part of this universe.

The story line of the series is good and the acting is also amazing. But I want to tell something that, if you already watched the first season of special ops then you must realise that, this season is not better than the first season. First season was full of interesting characters and story but the second season is not that kind of interesting as we expected. Overall good series..

As compared to 1st season..... Wait wait wait
Its not 2nd season
Its special ops 1.5 season 1!!!... So possibility of expanding the season is already set. Its not the spoiler. Period, it's common sense
Yeahh but compared to its previous season its short crisp and not that much thriller
But its a sureshot binge watched with family who all loves thriller suspens genre.
Connecting it to 1st part is really done smoothly which can be depicted from trailer also.
Kay kay Menon sir is legend Cometh the hour cometh the man. This season is purely depends upon Kay kay sir and he does the job so perfectly and flawlessly.
Everything is perfect just only 4 episodes of avg 45min are there. But still Definitely recommended Go for it.

The benchmark and expectations set by Special Ops season 1 got completely shattered. This short season couldn't live upto the expectations and the wait of the spectators, the season was too shot to be expected, just 4 episodes seemed to have ended before start.
The wait was for more, more of Himmat Singh and his team but it was only Himmat Singh that too very weak. Just 10 minutes after introduction of Aftaab and it was easy to Guess his end even by a class 8 kid
It's only the last scene that gave hope for a justified and exciting season 2 of original Special OPS.
If you are getting bored and nothing to do for 3 hours watch this.

The good:
The bad:
- Overall the entire series is short, upto point.
- Camera movements are amazing otherwise the whole series would have been boring due to lack of sensible baseline.
The bad:
- there are 3 plots in the series and all 3 are honey traps, LOL .. no other plot and no other baseline.
- Also the main scenes don't have any sense
