It's a decent show that definitely has its funny moments. Don't look for logic as you will find none, just enjoy the ride.
As of right now the show had two seasons. While the first season had a throughout story line with ridiculous premise, the second season took turn to the worse and basicly became a bunch of small stories similar to any American Sitcom, where the characters were cranked up to the max. The dumb, became dumber, the plot much more ridiculous etc. It looks like the creators didn't have second season in mind and created a bunch of sitcom cliche scenarios as they go.
I was surprised by the quality of comedic acting in the first season. It was surprisingly good. I would mention especially Ivan Okhlobystin as a funy take on local gangster (though being a protagonist) and Yan Tsapnik as corrupt mayor. Those two kept the quality the same on both seasons though unfortunately Okhlobystin was given relatively little screen time in the second season.
Worth to watch at least once. Better than most of the garbage being released today in "progressive" Hollywood.
Update from 03/01/2024
After watching season 3, I must say that I'm disappointed. Modern Russian comedy had lost its charm and most of the topics that were always funny, is now forbidden by Russian censorship.
It seems that at this point it's forbidden to laugh at corrupt politicians, Drunken policemen, anything that is even remotely reminds about gay community, unsanitary living conditions, 90'th gangsters and sex workers.
It's all seems to be focused on great government, honest politicians and children (without the sex part).
I understand that it's similar to what Hollywood is been doing for the past couple of decades, but still it feels as some corny yet funny period is lost and probably won't be found again in the foreseeable future.
