Visually and storytelling-wise it’s not a cut above much of what kids can watch on TV these days. This is a franchise that looks like it’s slowly going the way of the dinos, while we drool.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is the sixth movie in the Fox animated franchise, and it is easily the worst entry in the series so far.

It’s the extreme age-specificity and seeming low effort of Buck Wild that makes it more content than feature film.

While there are certain shots that provoke an emotional pull, whether that be fear, sadness or wonderment, there’s a synthetic quality to them. It leaves us yearning for a full immersion into this world of make-believe. Environments lack depth and dimension, coming across flat and uninteresting.
