The actors were given a brief outline for each scene and they would then improvise all of the dialogue. Since the movie was shot on DV the director and cinematographer would at times shoot up to 40 takes. Until they felt they had it.
Da'Mon Jackson, the producer, was able to lock down locations by calling in favors and giving people guilt trips.
The shoot was quick and would only get interrupted when the director ran out of money. It took 4 months to shoot.
