An interesting premise; rich daddy rents an entire mountain resort for his daughter's wedding, terrorists show up, mayhem ensues, is pretty much wasted with bland acting (by the men), hysteria (by the women), plot holes you could drive a truck through and fight sequences which purport to have actors playing highly-trained special ops vets but there's no doubt they're actors. As for Dolph Lundgren, in his prime he could've handled the entire invading force by himself, and even at 65 he should've been able to take out at least half of them alone. One has to wonder if the "liquor" he was drinking was real.

It's a B-movie alright. Definitely NOT a Dolph Lundgren movie. He has only got a small role. NOR is it a Luke Wilson movie. Both actors (the reason I started watching) only have tiny supporting roles. And Dolph has really gotten old. He should retire...
Skip the first 45 minutes. NOTHING happens, besides 3 minutes opening fire at the very start.
The bad: lots is wrong with this movie, because it is a cheaply made B-movie, with below average technical details.
Not any good? After 45 minutes FINALLY the action starts and although it is still nothing noteworthy, it'll do for those who usually like to watch these cheap action B-movies.
And I must admit, there is a certain supsense that I kinda liked. So not all bad...

I am a big Dolph Lundgren fan and I have been watching all his movies since the direct to video days where you rented them on vhs and this is by far one of the worst. The action is bland the acting from the supporting cast is terrible and wooden and there is almost no plot. It takes over half an hour for the story to pick up and any action to happen and in that time its just terribly hammy acting from the supporting cast which is almost torturous to sit through. When the action finally picks up its bland and repetitive with nothing super exciting and I barely found myself staying awake throughout this film. Dolph has limited screen time and this one is an easy skip for any fans who are looking for a unique film with fun action scenes.

I'm actually only half way through, but so bored I needed something to do.
The acting isn't terrible but the writing really is.
So many eye roll moments in this movie.
So many cliched moments. "We've never had to use the panic room". Really?
The premise was really good but such a wasted opportunity.
The actors were under-utilised and not shown to their best abilities.
No humour or light moments at all. Or maybe there was and I didn't get the jokes?
There was no reprieve from the serious feeling of the movie. Either traumatic action or serious, dark moments with too much conversation but nothing really said.
This was truly terrible.

Right out of the gate this movie is horrendous and gets progressively worse. It really deserves a zero rating because the "value" here is literally zero. No fun, no laughs, no enjoyment, no suspense of any kind. The action here is a complete joke, basically High school film trash that would be embarrassing even on youtube. You can't even laugh at how bad it is because the movie is so boring. In terms of generic action movie this is as bad as it gets.
If you actually want a fun bad action movie then watch any of the recent Steven Seagal films. Those movies are hilariously bad and have basically the same plot, but the difference is you can actually laugh at those movies.
There is no situation on earth where I would recommended this movie expect maybe as a torture device.

Once again, Hollywood (if you can call it that) fails to reach the first rung of the bar for entertainment with this one. A couple of well known actors doesn't make for quality evening on the couch.
A rich Dad rents out a whole 5 star resort for his daughter's wedding. More like Holiday Inn based on the decor as you watch the movie. My favorite was when they see the "safe room" with state of the art security and equipment!
If you need to drain a few hours of your life in the hopes you get a glimpse of Luke Wilson and Dolph Lundgren at their finest, you'll be sorely disappointed that somebody either needed a paycheck, or seriously owed somebody a favor.
Pathetic that when viewers are subjected to drivel such as this, that we can't get a refund. Professionals...SMH!

Watched this movie on the fact that it was rated 7.3 out of 10. Did anybody actually watch this film? Big fan of Luke Wilson and Brendan Fehr so figured I couldn't go wrong but boy, was I ever wrong. Right off the bat I could tell you the script was very poor with lots of long pauses between dialogue and the the action was basically just OK. Took forever just to get some context on what was going on. Even then, not sure if I understand it all. I realize not all films are going to be Oscar quality but boy, this was so NOT anything worthy. Guess Wilson and Fehr we're just bored and needed something to do!

Well I wouldn't even rate this a B-movie its way way down the alphabet.
No real plot with really bad acting and some crazy pointless over acting by the female cast.. And when do special operators as they are alleged to be, kill someone and leave the weapons, bearing in mind they have no other weapons.. And who drops an assault rifle after they her a female scream, no you pick it up reload and go shoot someone..
If feels like a lot of the films that have come out recently with actors who have been off the scene for a while needing some money.
And When is Luke Wilson the type of actor that plays well anything bad ass.

I just caught The Best Man on HULU. I was excited to see this because My friend Daniel Zirilli was the story writer and he was one of the producers as well. Also Dolf Lundgren was in it! I have been a big fan of both their movies for many years. I loved the character Dolf played in this movie. The first thing you will notice is that Dolf towers over everyone so, it is a little hard to notice anyone else in the film although the cast was all great as well. It was an honor to watch how Dolf interpreted his character and executed the dialog contributing to the tone of the story. I think everyone should check this movie out. I would have liked to see more action, but that's just me lol. Great job Daniel, Dolf & cast!

This is basically a movie that was written for Michael Jai White and/or Scott Adkins teaming up with Dolph Lundgren. Not really but this is how it look. Either of these men could had made the movie a lot better with solid hand to hand action sequences. But instead we got Luke Wilson and Brandon Fehr.
Don't get me wrong, i like both guy. Luke Wilson is very good in Stargirl and Brandon Fehr was in a show i loved as a teen call Roswell. He managed to appear in DTV stuff from time to time over the years always doing a decent job. The issue here is these guys are supose to be highly trained mercenary but they fight like generic Mr Everybody. They ain't action movie stars.
The plot of the movie is something you seen a million time before, the "Die Hard on a ..." formula. Personally im an action movie junky and i don't get enough with Hollywood big releases so i always dig trough the low budget direct to video market. Some actors made it their house and come with entertaining stuff even when the plot ain't anything original or great, they make it worth, they CARRY the movie. Sadly Luke Wilson and Brandon Fehr didn't.
Dolph Lundgren had some nice scenes and at his age, he still manage to be intimidating and all but that was not enough in my opinion to carry it either.
Actually the whole cast of the movie are not nobodies. You may remember Scout Taylor-Compton from Halloween remakes and Nikky Whelan appears often in DTV movies i watch. Both ladies are beautifull and did the job perfectly fine in this.
Really my issue is its just another generic action movie without anything original but it also lack what can make these really fun, the action.
That said i may sound harsh and you probably wondering why i gave it a 6? Because for me the movie was slightly above average. I seen way worst in this genre and i can't say i was completely bored or exasperated by it. I just finished it thinking "well that passed time". But you have to take into consideration i see A LOT of these DTV movies. I am someone easily please when it comes to cinema, i rarely hate movies especially action ones, they have to be VERY boring and bad for me to dislike them. So if you are used to big budget movie theatre stuff like Jeremy Jahns or other reviewers like this, you may really dislike it.
I would only recommand this movie to big action movie junkies who watch about 10 to 15 a month. Also maybe rent it on sale at 2-3$ instead of the 6-7$CAD or wait til its on Netflix or another streaming service as part of your subscribtion.

This movie is so bad I had to stop watching it and google how bad the reviews were. I just created an IMDb account for the sole purpose of posting a review of how bad this movie is. I'm honestly confused at just how completely this pile of useless footage fails to have a single redeeming quality. How did this thing ever see the light of day? How does this happen? It's not "so bad it's good", it's not "so bad it's funny", it's not so bad it will be a cult classic. It's not so bad that you will keep watching it like a train wreck. It's not even bad in the way that you watch something bad when you don't have the attention span to watch something you know you'll like.
This ridiculous, nonsensical excuse for a film is so bad that you will stop watching it halfway through, if you get that far, and wish you had picked something else to watch just so you can stop thinking about how perplexing it is that someone could make such garbage and no one stopped it from happening. Money, time, resources were spent on this movie. How does something this bad get made? How????????

So the acting is not over the top but it is not bad. You can tell that much of the dialog is meh but as far as story line goes this is a solid 5. Much better than what has being coming out lately so it is worth a view.
It is nothing new from most action B movies but it at least flowed and though very predictable you watch while playing a game on your phone. The ending however was very anticlimactic and again predictable.
Watch it if you are a Wilson or Lundgren fan though they are not the main characters. It is suppose to be the Best Man but even he does share screen time with everyone else.

This is the worst movie I've seen in a long time... And I watch a lot of movies. The dialogue is criminally bad. The plot is terrible and full of holes. It's like four 8th grade boys wrote it and didn't collaborate at all. I was hoping for something along the lines of The Expendables, but it's nowhere near as well written or entertaining to watch. And I expected so much more from Luke Wilson. I thought this might be a comeback vehicle for him, but it crashed and burned. The female characters in the movie are so bad they caused a setback in the women's rights movement. I'm so incredibly upset with myself for having watched the whole thing. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Granted, I can't really say that I was exactly harboring a whole lot of expectations to this 2023 action thriller starring Luke Wilson, Dolph Lundgren and Brendan Fehr. But still, I opted to watch it, since I had the opportunity to do so, and because I hadn't already seen the movie.
The storyline in "The Best Man" was bland and generic, so very, very generic. I am rather impressed that three writers could collectively manage to put together something so bland. Writers C. Alec Rossel, Shane Dax Taylor and Daniel Zirilli didn't impress me with this movie, and it made for a very forgettable action thriller movie experience.
The acting performances in "The Best Man" were as you would assume they would be for a movie of this type, genre and caliber. You're not in for an evening of Shakespearian theater here, that's for sure. Not that I was expecting such, anyway.
For an action thriller then "The Best Man" came and went without leaving much of a lasting impression. Sure, I managed to sit through the entire 93 minutes that director Shane Dax Taylor presented, but I was only mildly entertained. This is hardly a movie that warrants more than just a single viewing.
My rating of "The Best Man" lands on a three out of ten stars.

The story is old, boring and so full of plot holes it looks worse than a swiss cheese. The acting is sub par and there is no way in hell they can convince me they arre supposed to be some kind of elite soldiers. And for the love of god STOP GRABBING THE WOMANS ARM WHEN IT IS TIME TO RUN ANYWHERE! This is as retarded as it was 30 years ago and nothing anyone does any more.
The visuals are bland, sloppy and the absolute minimum anyone could get away with. Cliches abound and Dolph looks like he is on vacation about half the time. I watched it without having heard anything about it so didn't have any expectations, but I seriously regret that.

Created an account here just to warn other watchers off. Awful acting. Awful plot. Terrible all the way... I watched the whole thing as I was hoping for a decent ending but it was consistent in mediocrity until the end! The plot is very loose and the characters have no depth whatsoever. I am not sure who should be the main character as they are all so transparent. The scenes drag on for ever and the suspense is inexistant. I think I would rate sharknado higher than this. Was this filmed in a day and dialogues made up as they went along? So, my advice is to avoid watching this movie at all cost.

Awful, no real reason given why a bunch of heavily armed "Terrorists" decide to crash a wedding and kill all the guests. All the girls scream there heads off. All of the collaborators end up getting shot....theres a surprise!!! The hotel is apparently in the middle of no where where there is zero mobile phone signal and they make sure they get into the security room to take out the wifi so there's no internet either. One of the girls gets a satellite phone and tries to cal the cops but they are 30 mins away and therefore a complete waste of time and space. The sound track is boring as hell. The dialog is awful.
The sound is mediocre The Photography is mediocre The Acting is mediocre The Plot is Atrocious The Script is Atrocious
This movie is a passable watch 👍👎

I thought this movie was fun, action-packed and a good story. Everyone in the cast had good acting chops and the story kept me entertained. At the end of the day I want to be entertained and this one delivered. I gave this movie 10 stars to make up for all of the people just ripping the film with nothing better to do. Personally I found this movie to be a solid 8... all day long! I appreciate the work that went into this movie even though others probably were too blind to see. Luke Wilson is a great actor and Dolph is Dolph. Nicky was awesome as well and the rest of the cast my hats off to all of you. Thanks for entertaining me, I really enjoyed it.

Best Man, starring Dolph Lundgren, is an action-packed film that I found to be moderately engaging. Lundgren brings his usual physicality and presence to the role, delivering a performance that's solid if not particularly groundbreaking. The film's action sequences are decent, providing enough adrenaline to keep things moving, and there's a satisfying level of grit that complements the genre.
However, the film does have its shortcomings. The plot feels somewhat formulaic and predictable, lacking the depth to elevate it beyond a standard action fare. The character development is minimal, with supporting roles not given enough screen time to make a significant impact. Additionally, the pacing can be uneven, with certain scenes dragging on longer than necessary, which affects the overall flow of the narrative.
In summary, Best Man offers a decent action experience with Dolph Lundgren's reliable performance and effective action scenes. While it delivers some thrills, it falls short in terms of originality and character depth, making it an enjoyable but forgettable entry in the genre.
