Clearly one of the best of auteur Nica Noelle's over hundred Gay Porn features to date, this 4-character chamber drama boasts real, 3-dimensional characters brought to life by talented actors. That's quite an achievement in this genre, where studs having gonzo sex is the norm.
Three of the characters are contained in the title: burly Max Sargent as the father Mr. Osterman, Troy Accola as his son Sean and Michael Del Ray as the son's boyfriend Terry. The young lovers come to visit dad, assigned a room while Sean's old bedroom is inhabited by a New Age tenant named Sonata, wonderfully played by an actor recently going mainstream: Brendan Patrick.
Nica's excellent script contains solid comic relief lightly mocking the target of quirky folks who speak in spiritual terms dating back to having read too many Herman Hesse novels, promoting meditation, magical organic elixirs and such as the keys to healthy living. Brendan underplays and manages to make his eccentric character sympathetic and not merely a figure of fun.
The dramatic conflicts between father and son, as well as father and "intruder" Terry are convincingly presented and the Elephant in the room, i.e., being Gay, gets a fresh look rather than merely being taken for granted as usual in a porn context.
Curious or bicurious fans of Adult Cinema are advised to start with this sleeper for exposure to Nica Noelle's groundbreaking work in the genre.
