Warner Brothers Animation released a new trailer for the upcoming “ThunderCats” cartoon show. The cartoon reboot is set to air on Cartoon Network later this year. The panelists were attended by producers Michael Jelenic (“Batman: The Brave and the Bold”) and Ethan Spaulding (“Avatar: The Last Airbender,” “The Simpsons”), art director Dan Norton and voice actor Larry Kenney (“Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story,” “The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus”). Kenney provided the voice to Lion-o in the original series and he will be providing the voice to Lion-o’s father in the new series. Here are some highlights from the panel: Slides were shown of different characters from the vehicles and ThunderCats team. Twenty-six episodes were ordered and Kenny would like to see this show beat the original’s 135 episode run. Two new cast members were announced including Clancy Brown as Grune and Atkins Downes as Mumm-Ra.

Christopher Nolan's "Inception" won big at the Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards. The mind-bending movie took home two awards including best sound editing in the categories of sound effects & foley and music in a feature film.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold, a new animated series, premieres as part of Cartoon Network's Friday night action/adventure programming block on November 14 at 7:30p. From Warner Bros. Animation, Batman: The Brave and the Bold is based on DC Comics' Batman character and will serve as the new lead-in to Cartoon Network's other new series, The Secret Saturdays (8p) and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (9p), as well as Ben 10: Alien Force (9:30p). It was about time George Lucas got some good news. After the critical and commercial drubbing his feature-length Star Wars: The Clone Wars received news that the television series debuted to spectacular numbers must have been most welcome.
A Cartoon Network press release declared, “The new Lucasfilm Animation series scored as the most-watched series premiere in network history, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. The one-hour new series premiere also reigned as the #1 program from 9-10 p.m. among all major kids networks in kids 6-11, kids 2-11, tweens 9-14, teens 12-7 and persons 2+, earning triple-digit increases compared to the same time period last year. The weekly, CG-animated series also attracted the largest tweens 9-14 audience for any premiere telecast of an original series in Cartoon Network's 16-year history.”

The CG-animated series, from Lucasfilm Animation, averaged 4 million total viewers in its debut at 9 p.m. Friday, according to Nielsen Media Research. That's 1 million more than the April 18 series premiere of "Ben 10: Alien Force," the previous record holder with 2.9 million total viewers.
Cartoon said it ranked as the No. 1 channel among all major kids networks in the time slot among total viewers as well as in the key youth demos of kids 2-11 (1.8 million), kids 6-11 (1.4 million) and tweens 9-14 (1.2 million, the largest in the demo for any premiere telecast of an original Cartoon series). It also posted triple-digit viewership increases compared with the same time period a year ago.
