Two actors involved in the current CGI-animated incarnation of the "Thomas and Friends" franchise, Keith Wickham (Sir Topham Hatt/Gordon) and Rob Rackstraw (James) reprised their roles for this presentation.
Edward (the #2 engine) and George the Steamroller, two characters from the "Thomas and Friends" franchise who did not appear in the original scripts and 2000 film, were incorporated into this version. Edward is portrayed here as the train who takes Sir Topham Hatt and Lady Hatt on their holiday, thus explaining his absence from the 2000 film.
Produced to honor both the 20th anniversary of the feature film "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" and the 75th anniversary of the "Thomas and Friends" franchise when it was first created by The Rev. W. Awdry.
The script was adapted by director and Rainbow Sun Productions co-founder, Eric Scherer, from Britt Allcroft's original script.
Cut and extended sequences, particularly those featuring P.T. Boomer (played here by Richard Kind), were restored for this reading.
