For many years the brass band music, accent of the boy and general look of the advert led to the assumption it was filmed in north England (Lancashire or possibly Yorkshire). It came as a surprise to a great many people when it became known it was filmed in Shaftesbury, Dorset (a town about 21 miles west of Salisbury) in the south of England.
