Micheal J. Smith Sr. (who plays Lawrence) had to be persuaded to make the film as he had no interest in such things. In real life, he works for the Public Services Commission in Yazoo City, Mississippi and was discovered attending his local church.
This film about the connection between identical twins is highly personal to director Lance Hammer as his own mother is an identical twin.

The screenplay was largely improvised through extensive workshopping with the mainly non-professional cast.
It took Lance Hammer two years to complete the screenplay. He was going through a stage of depression at the time which is why it took so long.
