Well, the 2020 movie titled "Axeman at Cutters Creek" (aka "Axeman: Redux") is just another run-of-the-mill slasher movie. And not an overly good one at that, sadly so.
It felt like writer and director Joston Theney had been watching a bit too many 1980s slasher movies, as this is what "Axeman at Cutters Creek", except it just didn't manage to prove not even half as entertaining as the slasher movies were back in the day, with the likes of "Friday the 13th", "Nightmare on Elm Street", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Halloween", etc.
Sure, there were a lot of similarities between "Axeman at Cutters Creek" and most of the 1980s slasher movies, but it just didn't have the same appeal. And for me it was because the killer in this 2020 movie just wasn't iconic, nor were he even remotely scary.
The storyline in "Axeman at Cutters Creek" was predictable and generic, of course it was. So you just essentially lean back and watch the movie, waiting for the killing to start. And what it did start it was sort of anti-climatic for the most parts, as most of the killings were just mundane and had no particular style or grace to it - if there is such a thing. Yeah, I know, I grew up on horror movies, so I might have been environmentally seasoned or damaged!
The acting in the movie was adequate, if you take into consideration the limits of a mundane storyline and script, and having rather bland characters to work with.
There just simply weren't enough mayhem and killing in this movie to make it interesting, and writer and director Joston Theney was paying a bit too much attention to showing off girl on girl intimacy scenes.
If you enjoy slasher movies, then Joston Theney failed to provide an overly entertaining movie here. My rating of "Axeman at Cutters Creek" lands on a mere three out of ten stars.

An 80's style slasher with some suitably gory kills.
The scenes in between them were mere padding, but that's not why we like horror films.
At 42:57 something happened that was so gross and unnecessary I found it hard to keep watching, though I did.
The ending was a bit sudden with no real resolution.
A fair effort for its type, but could have been much better with a decent script and story to attend the kills.

This was awful. What was even the point? The killer had no explanation or reason for all the killing. And the cliches were so bad.

This might be the greatest unintentional comedy ever made. If it's intentional, that's even more impressive.
Of particular note, is the "vomit kissing scene".
If you're looking for an actual slasher though, you might be disappointed.

For anyone who doesn't know what a honey dipper is, it's a septic tank vacuum truck. So, having given away my humble opinion, all I can say is that this movie is a total s**t show. I believe that social media has ruined the millennial generation to the point of being unable to even mimick actual emotions without being fake and wooden. One girl eavesdropping on a trip companion cannot even distinguish sexual gratification sounds from OMG help me sounds, nor does she even knock on the door to see if the other is alright - I mean better safe than sorry, am I right? Sad state of our affairs. BUT, off my soap box I can only say there are much better movies to waste your time on. Now, notably, I have to admit that cheezy is not abhorrent to me, some of my favourite movies are such but, this one is just not very good. The look of the film is okay while the dialogue and acting are completely blah. One redeeming point is the actor playing the titular "Axeman" as he is one hugely intimidating individual which is spectacularly shown in the scene between and the female law enforcement officer. Therefore, unless you want to see a movie just this side of softcore, I cannot recommend a watch.

Had a bit of fun with this one. Old 1980s style down the film stock, hair styles and archetypes. Good looking girls, some naked, some not so much. Funny guys. Inventive kills. Good gore. I'm good with that. Some fun dialogues with characters. Felt like a hour and a half well-spent.
It's a free movie on Tubi or Amazon Prime or where ever you saw it and it isn't half bad. I don't understand the other viewers comments, lol. I never felt the urge to fast forward or skip past anything. Never bored. Interesting story and killer. Some bad acting but it's a low budget movie, what the heck do you expect? If they had a bigger budget, it wouldn't be a low budget movie, lol. They'd have better actors and better visuals. Gave it a 9 to balance out the lower scores.
I can highly recommend this movie. All the pieces were in place, amazing acting, fantastic storyline and an extraordinary killer. But I have to say that the best parts were the actual killings, the drama, the acting and the sound effects were just so scary and likeable. I definetely rate this movie 10/10.
