Black Cat is an interesting series, with a decent plot and characters, but in both of these it still suffers.
The characters, specifically the two main ones, are cliché. But they don't always feel that way. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. They really don't know how to feel. One character though, Sven, is consistently a great character. All the other secondary characters felt like nothing, and were largely ignored.
The plot is, although interesting, very rushed. I found there were a few plot-holes here and there, just to speed up the process. I don't know if they had an episode limit or what, but I especially noticed that the last episode was incredibly rushed and overall a pretty bad episode. Everything else was rushed too. Every episode had a resolution to whatever new conflict had arisen at the end. Sure, there was the main conflict, but all the smaller ones never carried over into other episodes, and it just felt lazy. The show would've benefited greatly from more episodes and more time spent on each one.
The action is okay. The fights are interesting enough, but sometimes characters just feel blatantly overpowered, and makes some fights feel one- sided.
The show has a lot of magic in it, but it all fits really well into the universe, which is really interesting.
Overall, Black Cat is just okay. The characters are decent (with the exception of Sven), the plot is rushed, the action is okay, but it has just enough magic so that it doesn't feel like everyone's a wizard. I wouldn't recommend this show personally, but it's still decent.
