At the time of filming, Nicholas D'Agosto (Shawn Colfax), was 28, Eric Christian Olsen (Nick Brady) was 31. It's not unusual for early 20-somethings to play teenagers, but it is often unusual for actors in their late 20s and 30s to play teenagers. However, this is a fictional movie and not real life.
Most of the scenes at Gerald R. Ford High School were shot at South Pasadena High School in South Pasadena, California. The scenes at the cheerleading camp were filmed at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
As usual two versions were released on Blu-ray/DVD: the Theatrical version and an Unrated version that runs a couple of seconds longer and features some more raunchier scenes, a bit nudity and harsher language than the theatrical cut.
