During the ritual scene, one of the visible candles in the shot begins to move and spark on it's own during a pivotal moment.

Emelia Hellman was cast as Sandy only 7 days prior to filming. The previous actress had dropped out due to scheduling conflicts, but had recommended Emelia to Alex Chehrazi as a strong candidate for the role.
According to the director, Samhain is indeed fan fiction, but NOT a fan film. The difference being; this is an original story that takes place in the same universe as Halloween, but is in no way a tribute film. It acts as a standalone piece, but with a new direction and new characters.
The location for the opening scene was shot in the basement of Alex Chehrazi's grandparent's home. Weeks before shooting had begun it was in jeopardy of being unavailable as the property, unbeknownst to Chehrazi, was put up for sale by his family. Luckily, a deal for the home was made only after filming had wrapped.
