I don't know about you, but me and my wife we like to watch mediocre rom-com movies from time to time and that's exactly what this movie was like. It was cheesy, cliché, and all that, but in the end it makes you feel good. Don't expect too much and you'll be happy with it :)

Remake of all the movies of big time boy going back to small town home. It's cute but the "romance" doesn't seemed believable as it's just the usual cliches. And the guy's eye shadow makeup took center stage The movie is ok, only cuz of cutie Ciara is in it, total nerding from Power Rangers Megaforce... I had to dig up Sweet Home Alabama after watching this movie just to give myself that warm fuzzy feeling.

It's a cute little movie, but not worth spending money on. The acting and editing are amateur (the early truck scene lasts 10 minutes!). If you like Hallmark movies, you'll enjoy it.

Movie about being in Alabama but filmed in South Carolina and California, complete with Palm Trees. Movie padded with extra long corn hole and flag football scenes. Main character's eyebrows looked like paste on variety. Script and editing made movie look even worse. Simple little movie gone awry. Almost like mocking Alabama.

Very cliche, very country, fun but a little boring. James is really cute in here. Good Old Romcom, just go with it style.

I like romcoms. This one even if in the Hallmark genre is quite good. The actors especially Ciara Hanna performed well with smart acting. The cinematography was very well done which separates from other similar movies. The plot is good and though there is no Oscars in play, we'll worth the time to watch.
Buckle up boys and girls cause this is a terrible f'in movie. (I'm gonna preface this with the only reason I didn't give it a 0/10 is because I can't go that low on here and they made a funny joke about Mississippi - which was the only accurate part to this stupid movie)
FIRST: WHAT ARE THESE ACCENTS. I c r i n g e d the entire time. I'm tired of y'all stupid hallmark wannabes putting movies in the south and making us sound like we're a mix between Colonel Sanders and some Victorian era plantation owner. It's overplayed and awful.
- "This is my LA living. Lower Alabama." SIR, Im from Lower Alabama and this is not it. AND then y'all wanna mess up the "Holy Trinity of Bama" and say it's God, Country and Football? Figure it out, it's God, Family and Football but y'all tried. Try again.
- OH AND HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO RIP AN AUBURN FLAG DOWN? HOW DARE YOU.
- And when I say y'all ruined my ENTIRE night by allowing those tone deaf yahoos to ruin the I C O N I C song by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald?!?!? WHO TF YALL THINK YALL ARE???? AND THEN YOU WANNA ACT LIKE YALL GAVE THAT MAN AN AWARD FOR THAT? DISRESPECTFUL!!!!!!
- And how are y'all gonna have James from Big Time Rush and not even have him sing Boyfriend when he's doing his stupid little unnecessary speech???
- OH and Taylor Hicks???? Singing All American Rejects and they're line dancing to it??? WHAT??? Cmon Taylor you know better wtf.

This is one of my favorite romcoms of the year so far, I've really enjoyed watching this.
I think the actors did a really great job, they had chemistry, the story was not bad, but at times it could be better, unless it was meant to leave some areas for a continuation... I even enjoyed the music, which is pretty rare for me.
You should give it a shot, I rated it 10 because the chemistry between Jason Burkey and Ciara Hanna made me forget that at times is close to your typical "boy meets girl, falls in love, the end" type of movie, I wanted to see more, I wanted to see what happens next, I still had couple of questions unanswered since I saw potential for the story to evolve.
I know the ratings and reviews are subject to opinion and taste/like for everyone individually, but I strongly feel like the ratings so far were a bit unjust and it deserves at least a solid 7 if not more, overall, that is the only reason I've decided to write a review, to encourage others to give it a chance before judging it based only on the ratings that didn't leave a review.
The fact that the characters in this movie were line dancing to "Gives You Hell" by American Rejects says it all.

Liked I stated, I watched it twice so it wasn't bad. The worst bit, that I skipped over the second time, was the long drawn out speech that the lead male blabbed on. Actually the whole end of the movie needed a rewrite. Aside that it deserves to be watched.
Don't waste your time. I'm a big fan of most Hallmark and Hallmark-type movies, so I thought that's what I was getting. It was so bad, it made hallmark look good. I kept telling myself to turn it off, but it was like a train wreck, I just couldn't look away. Don't do what I did. The "plot" was a given, but that's not what bothered me. The acting was horrible, the chemistry didn't exist and the filler between the standard scenes (the meet-cute, the almost kiss, and the misunderstanding) was so cringing, I was embarrassed for them. Whoever wrote this movie hopefully is now working a normal 9 to 5 and isn't allowed to write ever again.
I'm not sure why I'm even giving it two stars.

I'm from Virginia. To real Southerners who said they liked this film, what were you watching? I don't care about light stereotypes, they are based on some truth. This however, is sheer mockery . It's way over the top. From the badly fake Southern accents , to the idea that small town folk are so simple minded , to the idea that when a Southerner leaves the South , removes their honesty and integrity and adopts a northern accent , they somehow have "overcome" their inferior past . They don't see Southerners as individuals. They see us as a monolith. Why does Hollywood hate the South so much to make constant drivel like this? And Alabama deserves better.

Imagine every cliche the most Ignorant person thinks about Alabama and roll it all into one movie. I don't k ow anyone who: 1. Wears cowboy boots and flannel shirts, 2. Line dances... I saw more of that when I lived in NC, 3. Has an Alabama state flag hanging from their house. I mean football is a big deal but the excessive Roll Tides and Bama pride was way overboard. Check the accent, those people sounded ridiculous.
These days people keep bringing up stereotypes and prejudices... well let me bring this one up. I'm tired of people from Bama being portrayed as simple minded, uneducated, white trash Y'all!!! Come visit and I'll show you what it's really like in the Deep South.

I don't usually write reviews but I came to defend this movie from some of the bad ones. I think the low scores relate to the setting and not being in Alabama. I don't care about that, not being from the states and as a stand alone film I liked it. It's more edgy and grown up than you 'hallmark' specials. Decent easy watching with some proper romance rather than just declaring love from no where at the end. I'd watch it again. Would like to have seen more character development from the best friend, David, and some of the others but on the whole better than most of the cheesy romance stuff out there.

The act was highly unprofessional in a very cheap movie which they just made to advertise frequently iPhones, boring and not worth watching till the end.
Totally waste of money and time.

Enjoyed this movie very much - it was an escape from a grim news day, and well-executed. The leads and supporting cast are likeable, the direction is first-rate, and the use of anime techniques for montages elevated the production quality.
This is a 21st century Southern style Rom-Com - there are no Confederate flags (only the state flag of Alabama), no redneck stereotypes (thank you), and I can't remember an expletive (thank you). The idea of a Hollywood agent with a moral compass breaks the mold. There is no racism - only one black character and one Asian character, both of whom support the hero to the max. I would have liked to know more about their backstories (especially David, the best friend from back home). Any nastiness from the town's "bad guys" comes from common human failings, not because of Alabama roots (thank you). Most TV franchises hope for six seasons and a movie. This movie gives enough possibilities for six TV seasons!

Agree with other reviewers on poor scenery, make up, etc. Thumbs down big time. I quit watching in the middle and forwarded to the end... Just because! Ciara Hannah should get an "Oscar..." for the most boring and poor acting "actress!" She is soooo boring and dumb looking too!

This was a stupid movie. Good god. Can't you people visit the south before you make these ridiculous movies?? We don't all drive big trucks nor do we all yell roll tide. Good grief.
Told hubby this seemed like a movie filled with songs from the same artist debuting his new album. The funniest part was the subtitles. When people said 'Roll Tide!' the subtitles said either, 'real tight' or 'road right'. Too funny! Apparently the closed caption translator has never heard of the university if Alabama!
