It's 2133 - Scientist CINDY RELLAR and ex-game-show host Mydas Mydason win a strange competition to the planet Voltarabia, hosted on the journey by the grumpy, reluctant Cilla. Meanwhile Turnidus, elephantine King of Voltarabia is gatecrashed by Yztabub - a distraught talking drinks machine from Earth. The four end up standing shoulder to shoulder against the 'over the top' villains of the piece, marking the start of some weird, dangerous and exciting adventures.

Cindy, Mydas, Turnidus and Yztabub find themselves getting deeper and deeper into trouble - Cindy's boss Gamak is forced to enlist the help of brothel owner Madame Deephole in his search for Cindy. Mydas' scheming wife Maureen is on a space flight to her real lover when a chain of deadly events unfolds.

Turnidus discovers a large dead black cat, Yztabub discovers damaged engines, Mydas has gone mad and Cindy has radiation sickness. Maureen and her fellow hijacked prisoners Jadra, Teddy and Frag are subject to an alien attack. Colonel Franklyn is kidnapped with the help of a half octopus half human.

Maureen's sinister condition worsens. Turnidus and co arrive on the bizarre planet Xoolian Major, where the natives are taxed on character and colour. Gamak teams ups with TV producer Hywel to help find the missing people.

Turnidus, Yztabub, Cilla and Mydas are forced to enter a race run by a 15 stone chicken. Maureen undergoes a dramatic change, while Frag and Jadra face execution. And what are the mysterious pallbearers burying.

Gamak wakes up in complete darkness....is he dead? Meanwhile Madame Deephole comes out of hiding when her cleaner Major Grondlepuss arrives.

Madame Deephole and The Major enlist the help of Violet Goodgrip, while Turnidus has some explaining to do.
