This is really beautiful biopic. I like almost every part of the movie, but didn't like several scenes when Susi defeat some of her biggest enemies in important matches, especially at Barcelona 1992.

From the set where the clothes almost reflect the year that much, the atmosphere of the year is even more pronounced. The color grading is pretty good but, at the beginning, the story felt like jumping but it was ok.
This film is more than a biopic movie but also capturing indonesian history beautifully. Thank you for inform and monumentalize the hidden-historical moments when Susi complaining about chinese ethnic discrimination in front of medias. I was moved to tears during the cinema. As I am a indonesian chinese too. Love all.
It encapsulate the dark history of Indonesia during the 1998 Asian Crisis, whilst having a great and captivating story line. Must watch for all Indonesian of all ages. Let's remember and learn from history as to not repeat it again.

We can get to know Susi Susanti as a determine character from the movie.....the movie has good story but too many sensitive issues like politics and citizenship being attached to the movie and made the story less focus on the subject of Susi Susanti pursue to be the championship for Olympic and many other championships..... Anyway a good movie to know Susi Susanti......
Story of the great Indonesian Athlete in Badminton. Win many gold medals, especially Olympic Gold Medal in Barcelona
I might be biased to say that this movie is almost perfect.
The cinematography is great. I am impressed they could find and make the prop from the eighties looks very real.
The music also great.
The casts act well and, in fact, she looks kind of similar to the real character.
The plot is not dragging and without stupid meaningless dialogs found in many movies
And, ultimately, the story is very well told.
This should be the Indonesian 'national movie', compared to the G30S. It reminds how one can love oneself and also love and contribute to the nation.

This film transcends its surface portrayal of badminton, offering much more than just a sports story.
It goes beyond my expectations by delving into sensitive social issues, such as racism and the political climate affecting the ethnic Chinese community. These themes add depth to the narrative, providing a broader context beyond the realm of sports.
Watching the movie filled me with pride and admiration for Mrs. Susanti's perseverance, while also evoking sadness for the hardships she faced during that era. Laura Basuki's performance as Mrs. Susanti stands out as a highlight, delivering an exceptional portrayal that brings the character to life with remarkable depth.
Overall, this film is one of the finest Indonesian biographical movies I've seen, skillfully blending personal and political struggles to create a compelling and moving story.
