Yeah his joke writing doesn't seem to be the greatest but he has tons of potential, and this wasn't too bad.
The only thing that bothered me is how he just *has* to say "stupid" after every joke. Seemed unintentional, probably nervous. But he can get much better.
With some better joke and when he gets more confident on stage I'm sure he'll be a great comedian. But this special was pretty timid and not that funny, though, to be fair, most Netflix specials aren't. At least Adam's wasn't as insufferable or overly-political like the others Netflix cherry picks to feature.

Adam Devine is a super funny actor, but this special is just okay. I had actually watched this special once before, but I didn't remember anything about it, so I decided to rewatch it. And I can kind of see why I forgot it. There are some hilarious parts that made me laugh, but there were a lot of parts that were kind of bland. Some of this could possibly be attributed to the fact that Adam isn't a traditional stand-up comedian. But it is only about 45 minutes long. And I have definitely seen worse sets from full-time stand-up comedians. So, I'll cut him some slack. Even then, I feel like it could have been better. However, I did love hearing about his Pitch Perfect audition. It would've been great to have heard more about that. But all in all, it's a fun little watch if you need a laugh or two.
Save your time and skip this 'special'. It was just plain unfunny, and there seemed to be a laugh track that was overbearing.

I dont actually think it is a solid ten. Maybe an 8, definitely a 7. But I wanted to rate it high to offset the low scoring. Which I dont understand. There were problems in the special - sometimes the punchline would not be there, his overuse of "stupid", and the not so solid ending. I couldn't stop laughing though. Adam has a positive energy about him and he is thoroughly entertaining. It was enjoyable from start to finish. I feel bad for the people that dont get the humor and didnt like it. Clearly we weren't watching the same thing.
Loved workaholics, dude should stick to acting. The delivery is horrible. He tries to amp up unfunny jokes with awkward crazy antics. How many people can these networks give specials too that have no business doing standup. It's getting really old wasting time on these "specials". But hey, it was better than schaubs.... The comedy scene needs to start calling people out that aren't good at this profession.

Some really seem to not like this, while others love it. If you like amateur, goofy, immature humour, you'll probably like this. If you're into more intellectual humour, or you don't like off-beat, silly, and simple humour, this might not be for you.

If you're fantastic actor that doesn't mean you're great comedian. He's very nice and warm person and he's super talented but he's not comedian. Adam can fulfil many roles but his jokes are really lame like school contest level. I wish him good luck in movies but not in scene as comedian.

If you want a very physical and energetic comedian then I would suggest many others over Adam Devine. He doesn't have a cohesive thought and frankly if ripping off Dane Cook's old material or more recently Chris D'Elia. Adam is a great comedic actor but him having an hour special is truly crazy. There are so many better stand up comedians than him. Also don't watch this if you want to walk away with anything. If you want to watch a new comedy on Netflix please watch Wanda Sykes' special, it has an overarching story to it and isn't forced.
I have watched most workaholics episodes and I love that particular sense of humor.
Yes, it might not be the most sophisticated neither the most original, but I enjoyed his energy, positivity, and workaholics reference.
I fell asleep with a smile on my face.

One of the least funny comics I have ever seen. He does not seem to have any jokes, has a terrible stage presence, boring stories, obnoxious facial expressions, and an irritating 'delivery'. Here is an act that is totally without merit or redemption. Devine should quit comedy as a gesture of decency to mankind.
So many out there...
This was hilarious! I feel like if u really understand his comedy and faces you will crack up. Hahahaha
Much love,
Liz

I like Adam Devine in the office and i also like some of his parts in movies, even if the kind of humour is sometimes very childish. But you know, sometimes you need this no brain just laugh thing. Unfortunately this stand up special doesn't work. I think it's mostly because he needs a calmer counterpart to deliver his funnyness. But up there on stage, all alone, he just can't convince me of his stand up talent.

Adam Devine is a fine actor, but it hurt to watch the comedy special.
Nothing said brought on big laughs.

Very funny special, I have watched it twice!
Surprised by negative reviews and low score. Yeah, his act may not be 100% polished, but does it really matter?! With his original material and energetic delivery he just makes you laugh. Give it try!
Unfortunately this show was a complete failure from start to finish. Making a face, shaking your leg, these are not jokes or punchlines to a joke. A pathetic attempt at pandering humor. There was about 2-3 actual jokes in this hour long set, where he managed to get a chuckle, because of some basic comedy writing.
Over all it felt like he was trying to be a Dane Cook copy but failed miserably at it. Big fan of Workaholics but this was a waste of time to sit through.
The audience simply cheered whenever he mentioned "oh yeah I'm an actor" and just seemed like they would laugh at everything he uttered or made a "Goofy" face.
I'd rather watch Amy Schumer, and that's saying a lot. If you happen to watch this and think "this was a good stand up special" - no it wasn't.
Rather then go and watch actual COMEDIANS Like Carlin, Attel, Gaffigan, Chapelle, Louis C.K etc. Then come back and see that this guy was closer to a clown act than a Comedy special.

But just like what I've commented on other unfunny stand-up comedians' shows, the audiences would have still tried their best to laugh at almost every lame joke he or she said on the stage. It's a weird grouping effect; if the people sat around you laughing at something not funny at all, you'd try to laugh anyway, showing that you've got the funny bone like them. In order not to make the money you've stupidly wasted on the ticket fare, you've got to laugh very hard to make every penny worth.
This Adam Devine's talk show is one of the most boring, unfunny, childish, shallow shows I've ever encountered. It's extremely boring. Just terrible. His popularity and how he survived in this cruel FUNNY world is beyond my logic could fathom.

While I quite like him in movies, as long as there is a strong cast around him, this was so unfunny, I had to turn it off after 20 minutes. It felt like watching a friend of yours first time on stage being a comedian. It was cringeworthy, unfunny and worst of all: boring af. Hilariously everybody in the theater of course cheered and laughed, they paid money and apparently once you reach a certain level of stardom they will laugh at anything. You can see this phenomenon with real stars like Bill Burr or Louis CK, where people even after mediocre jokes behave as if they just heard the funniest bit ever.
I only gave this a three, because there is even worse comedy. Just check out Brendan Schaub. At least Adam is likeable and seems to have fun. Brenda Schwaaub is at least 2 levels below and hates us homeless cats.

I was vaguely aware of this guy. I didn't watch the office, I didn't watch anything he was in on comedy central, I didn't watch pitch perfect. But I watched this special and laughed non stop all the way through. I cried, I farted, because I was laughing so much. I understand not everyone finds the same things funny. I assume the ppl that hated this love Steven Colbert or Bill Mahr (do the math). His energy, his faces and expressions, how could you not like this? If you didn't like it..... stupid.

I didn't know what to expect only seeing Adam on Workaholics. his humor translated very well into stand up. especially with his physical comedy here.
Low reviews are dumb, first comedy special in a while I laughed really hard. Loved it, thank you DeMamp. Peace.

That's pretty much it. This was easily one of the funniest standup specials I've ever seen. Adam is hilarious, his jokes are original, his delivery is solid, and he's super energetic. Sorry to the people who didn't like this that must just be miserable at a baseline.

Adam is really one of my favorite comedians. He brings a smile to my face with his positive energy. He's youthful, funny, and also sweet.
He's so adorable! How could anyone hate him?
He never disrespects women with his jokes, and he's obviously a very humble person. At the same time, he's very talented so I couldn't stop laughing for the entire show. I thought my neighbors were gonna come knock at my door to complain about the loud laughters!
I truly wish this guy the best and I hope to see another comedy special of his soon!

Really wanted to like this. Felt like there's a laugh track backing as the audience rolls in laughter at every sentence. Pretty annoying. Beyond that it's okay...there's some good jokes and some mediocre ones.
He's great an actor in righteous gemstones. It's weird to see him be serious as a comedian now. I have a lot more characters that I need to get to in order to submit this review. Adam Devine is from Waterloo, Iowa. He's good, forgot he was in pitch perfect. Workaholics is a no brainer, but Anna Kendrick was the best in pitch perfect. Adam is pretty wholesome and that's what makes him relatable and fun to listen to.
