Do Patti (Two Cards) is a film with an identity crisis, in that neither director Shashanka Chaturvedi nor writer/co-producer Kanika Dhillon seem to be entirely sure of its primary instinct.
Is it a twisted tale of identical twins, one good and one bad? Or is it one more hill station mystery? (For some reason, streaming platforms seem enamored with these — think of Netflix’s Aranyak or Mrs. Serial Killer, Voot’s Candy or ZEE5’s Rautu Ka Raaz. Perhaps the hope is that the beauteous mountain views will distract from the bumpy storytelling.)
Is this an impassioned plea against domestic violence, or a courtroom drama in which it’s difficult to decide who played whom? Is it an exploration of the nature of justice, and of whether the letter of the law or the spirit of the law is more important?

Actor Mohit Raina, who will be seen as the lead in Neeraj Pandey’s riveting thriller series ‘The Freelancer’, has heaped praise on his co-star Anupam Kher, saying that he feels lucky to get the opportunity to work with him.
When actors work together, they share a great camaraderie on-set. One such duo is Mohit and Anupam. Mohit learnt alot from the senior actor Anupam on ‘The Freelancer’.
Talking about the same, Mohit said: “Though Anupam sir is a legend for actors like me, he doesn’t like to be called one. Getting to work with him is obviously a great opportunity, I feel lucky. You always learn from a senior even just by observing them.”
The series is based on the book – ‘A Ticket to Syria’ by Shirish Thorat. The book attempts to share the story about the insidious operations of the Islamic State, and how the terror group...

Netflix has just released the Indian production “Mrs. Serial Killer”. The film directed by Shirish Kunder is a mixture between horror thriller and horror satire.
Sona (Jacqueline Feranndez) is married to a successful gynecologist. They live in a big house and are expecting a child. When her husband Mrityunjoy (Manoj Bajpayee), in short Joy, comes home after a business trip, he is directly arrested at the airport. The policemen are sure that they finally have caught the serial killer who brutally murders and buries young women. Joy claimes his innocence and Sona believes him. She wants to do everything she can to exonerate him. To do so, she seeks advice from the criminal lawyer Mr. Rastogi (Darshan Jariwala), who, then, suggests a radical solution.
The evidence seems to be clear; DNA-samples, the location and murder techniques speak for Joy as the perpetrator. However, both the lawyer and Sona suspect that the investigator in the case,...

While much of the entertainment world is in lockdown and in danger of drying up their respective content pipelines soon, Netflix has claimed that they have more than enough finished projects and business will continue as usual. While that may seem to be an outlandish boast, it’s hard to look at Netflix’s new releases for May 2020 and not think “man, they’re really just not stopping.”
Netflix’s new releases for May 2020 are positively loaded with new Netflix originals, intriguing recent films, and even some fun new stock TV shows. Office creator Greg Daniels latest project, Space Force, premieres on May 29 and will likely be Netflix’s big blockbuster this month. Having access to Daniels, Steve Carell, John Malkovich, Lisa Kudrow, and more will do that for a project.

NetflixThe high octane spy thriller will release in India on September 27.Tnm StaffYouTube screenshot/NetflixNetflix is making big leaps in India with indigenous content and the most recent on the list is Bard of Blood, a series which has some big Bollywood names associated with it. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, this spy thriller series is based on the 2015 novel of the same name written by Bilal Siddiqi. The series, whose trailer was released on Thursday, looks like a high octane drama with plenty of action. In the opening scenes of the two-and-half-minute trailer, we see Indian spies being taken prisoners and executed in Balochistan, Pakistan. Enter Emraan Hashmi as ‘Adonis’, aka Kabir Anand, a seemingly nondescript school teacher who is also a troubled and, apparently, disgraced spy. Adonis is sent into Balochistan along with two others – Isha Khanna, played by Made in Heaven fame Sobhita Dhulipala,...
