"Django Unchained" star Jamie Foxx will be taking a spin behind the camera for Syfy. The network announced that the Oscar-winning actor will be executive producing, writing and directing an at the moment untitled five-episode horror anthology that will air this fall. This isn't Foxx's first attempt at the genre -- he was an executive producer on and directed an episode of "Nite Tales," an attempt at an urban horror series adapted from a 2008 TV movie hosted by Flavor Flav (how far the project got isn't entirely clear). This new series comes through Foxx's Foxxhole Productions and Universal Cable, and will be morality tales in the vein of "The Twilight Zone" and "Tales from the Crypt." Episodes will run a half-hour and will premiere during Syfy's annual 31 Days of Halloween programming marathon in October. "This is a project that I've wanted to do for a long time and I'm so...

Actress and producer Alyshia Ochse may not be a name you immediately recognize, but we here at Dread Central feel like that’s going to change very soon. The up-and-comer recently appeared in the brand new pilot episode of Deon Taylor’s revamped “Nite Tales” series as well as horror short The Guest (which she also produced) that bowed online earlier this month.
In honor of Indie Horror Month, we caught up with Ochse to talk about how this Midwestern actress got her start in the industry, what inspired her to get into producing films and her experiences working in the horror genre and why she’s found it a welcoming experience for her career.
Ochse always knew she was destined to work in the entertainment industry. “I wanted to be an actress ever since I could talk. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to be anything other than an actor really.

My thoughts on Nite Tales: The Series can be summed up very simply and concisely. I hate this show. I hate everyone involved in this project. I hate the producers who put up the money to make this piece of crap. If you like Nite Tales, I want to punch you in the face. Flavor Flav, even your self-aware camp cannot save this show. Nite Tales is The Twilight Zone without brains, creativity, or talent, and if you must watch it, I recommend getting extremely drunk or high before doing so.
Nite Tales only lasted for five 20-minute episodes, but it still took alcohol and excessive yelling at my television to get through the experience. The first episode involves a security guard in a warehouse full of mannequins. The second episode was about a young woman who visits a psychic to try to contact her father who died a year ago.

It's so exciting when new genre shows make it to television. And it's great to hear that Jamie Foxx will be executive producing a new one called Night Tales. Based on a Bet movie, Nite Tales: The Movie, Night Tales is planned as a half-hour anthology show. The current plan sees 26 episodes broken up over two seasons. More after the jump. While the article in Variety didn't specify a network, Foxx and partner Deon Taylor are looking to go the cable route. "Some of them will be very, very horrorfied, and others will be more supernatural," Taylor said. "But they're all PG; there won't be any superbloody things happening to people." Foxx and Taylor...

Deon Taylor's been carving himself a nice little niche in our genre with his films Nite Tales, Chain Letter, etc., and now, along with producer Jamie Foxx, Taylor is looking to bring his anthology flavor to TV with an episodic version of "Nite Tales".
According to Variety the horror anthology is already in production on 26 half-hour episodes, envisioned to split over two seasons. Foxx and Taylor have co-written and co-directed the pilot and several other episodes with Tom Arnold, Method Man and Jason Mewes among those appearing in different segments.
Taylor said the anthology would be a hybrid of "Tales From the Crypt" and "The Twilight Zone." "Some of them will be very, very horrorfied, and others will be more supernatural," Taylor said. "But they're all PG; there won't be any super bloody things happening to people."
But super bloody things are fun! Come on, Deon, give us the goods!

Denise Richards and Stacey Dash will host the on-going television spin-off of the anthology horror film Nite Tales , by Deon Taylor. Hosting duties originally went to Flavor Flav. The change was probably made when Jamie Foxx came aboard as executive producer on the television series. Foxx and Taylor are planning 26 episodes (two season's worth of programming), the former is also trying his hand at co-writing and co-directing a few episodes. Actors such as Tom Arnold, Method Man and Jason Mewe appear in Nite Tales , a blend of Tales from the Crypt meets The Twilight Zone . There's no word yet as to where the series will air.

It’s not often we write articles about award-winning performers here on Dread Central, which makes this all the more exciting for yours truly. This past weekend Deon Taylor (Dead Tone, Chain Letter) invited Dread Central exclusively out to his set in Los Angeles to give us a look at the revamping of his Night Tales (previously Nite Tales) brand of horror.
Previously hosted by everyone’s favorite hip-hop hype man Flavor Flav, the new Night Tales will be hosted by Stacey Dash (Clueless) as a vampiress, demonstrating a new, serious and sexy direction for both the television series as well as the feature film.
In addition to the new direction of Night Tales, Taylor also introduced us to his brand new producing partner, Oscar and Grammy Award winner Jamie Foxx. The collaboration marks Foxx’s first true foray into the horror genre, something that excites the renowned actor greatly.
