• King Bohan : [Roach is losing his battle against Nariko]  Come on Roach, you blundering oaf!

  Nariko : Your daddy doesn't like you very much does he?

  Roach : You mustn't talk about daddy like that!

  Nariko : Aww...

  King Bohan : Stop playing with her and kill the wretched girl!

  Roach : But she's hurting me! She's hurting my head!

  King Bohan : Nothing compared to what I'll do to you!

  [Roach looks confused; Nariko points behind Roach, mocking him] 

  Nariko : Look!

  [falls for the joke, Bohan waves his arms in exasperation]

• Nariko : [Roach is still losing his battle with Nariko; she's beginning to sympathise with him]  Roach! Why don't you just run away?

  Roach : [pained voice]  Stop it! Stop talking...!

  King Bohan : [furious]  You're a complete waste of air! What do I need to do to make you understand, eh? Do I need to... kill your pets?

  Roach : NO! Don't kill pets! They're my only friends!

  [turns back to Nariko; suddenly seems to understand what's happening] 

  Roach : I'll do it! I'll do it...

• Shen : You are truly the one sent from heaven, Nariko. The chosen one.

  Nariko : No, I chose. I chose my own life. And those of us who've died for this sword, have died in vain. I'm not sent from heaven, father, and neither is the sword.

• Nariko : This was once a place of tranquility and learning. Now Bohan has ravaged its beauty with his mark of corruption. I can feel the suffering of my father and our clansmen there, at Bohan's mercy. And this I know... some men show no mercy! Kai?

  Kai : Hmmm?

  Nariko : I have to find father. You keep watch till we return. We may need you to play twing twang.
