We bought the dual CD/DVD of Friendly Fire after seeing Sean Lennon in concert. I had never listened to Lennon before and simply did not want to miss the opportunity to see the son of one of the most famous (and one of my favorite) musicians ever. I didn't know what to expect and was totally blown away by the magic of his band's sound. I was riveted for the entire performance, and could not wait to see the DVD film.
The surreality of Sean Lennon's short video was a perfect match for the soundtrack. I can watch it over and over and it always does strange things to my head. The only episode that was a little too much for me was the one that accompanies Tomorrow. I found it deeply disturbing for reasons I do not want to mention because I do not want to spoil it for anyone. Everything else messed with my head in a good way, although the overall tragic theme of betrayal did make me sad.
