The musician and writer of the comic book "Ghost with Heart of Stone" Eduardo (Vladimir Brichta) meets the gorgeous Laura (Aline Moraes), who is engaged and close to her marriage, in a bookstore and immediately they fall in love for each other. Sooner they get married, and one night, Eduardo unexpectedly dies, but his soul does not move to the Third World. He meets the Ghost with Heart of Stone (Gustavo Falcão) stranded in his house, stalking his beloved next door neighbor D. Mariana (Laura Cardoso) and he asks to the ghost how he can communicate and say farewell to Laura.

"Fica Comigo Esta Noite" is a disappointing supernatural romance about love after death, with confused and not-well developed characters and situations. The dark humor is weak, the repetition of theme song is boring but the lighting and the atmosphere are great. The Brazilian cinema has many better movies than "Fica Comigo Esta Noite". My vote is four.

Title (Brazil): "Fica Comigo Esta Noite" ("Stay With Me Tonight")

"Fica comigo esta noite" (which means "Stay with me tonight" in Portuguese) is an excellent dark comedy about love and death, but especially about Love after death! The movie is all painted with a sarcastic and ironic dark humour (hilarious at parts: the funeral scene is one great example!) but it also has some interesting philosophical details about death and an eventual life after death! Of course it's all done in a slight and smooth way, because it's a comedy after all, but it has a few details that made me think about them. One sentence I can remember is: "who knows if the world of the dead is not just as one had imagined as it would be"… I found it very deep and, who knows, very close to the reality!

About the technical details, this film is very good too, because it's created a great ambiance. The setting, the costumes, the soundtrack it's all combined to produce a real ghost story, not a spooky one, not one oriented to the horror scene, but a ghost story about tenderness, passion and the true feeling of love.

The main song of the soundtrack says "Fica comigo esta noite e não te arrependerás" (Stay with me tonight and you won't regret) and I tell you: see this film tonight and you won't regret!
